Good fight, a bit odd it was over such a clean hit. They’ll fight people for making plays on open ice but when Marchand slew-foots in the corner they shirk opportunity.
The camp of people saying "but it was a small hit", I'd respond with, it doesn't matter the size, it matters with how they respond. It's Toronto we're talking about, the most criticized team in the league by a country mile. They had to drop the gloves even if Joshua looked at someone wrong. Shows more ballz then the non response on the Marchand trip you mentioned.
Because Marchand is sneaky and not everyone catches it.

Imagine if we had HD videos of NHL fights all the way back to the 70s, 80s & 90s,
instead of the grainy, blurry 144-240p shitty VHS mess that we're stuck with.
It's ironic. Now when the video quality is finally great and we can watch the fights in pretty much real-time, all the enforcer legends are long gone.
And when the legends were still playing, the image quality we have to go on is depressing.
There are exceptions of course, I still have some crisp VHS tapes with good quality, taped directly from the broadcast. And I'm sure networks and stations have a good archive of crisp quality old games. But on TH-cam it's almost entirely poor quality at best going back to pre-2005.

From the games I've been able to catch and watching these highlights, it seems like there's at least one fight per game. I understand fights are part of the game and they get the crowd going (and admittedly myself sometimes - to be honest, who doesn't love a good hockey fight?), but I'm also thinking there seem to be more fights than usual. Well, at least from what I've noted. Someone who has been a hockey fan longer than I have will need to correct me.
I think there's quite a few teams this year massively underperforming at this point.
Players are then getting very emotional.
