    Let’s be clear I watched JBP for 5 years. Joe Buddens was in fear of Joe Rogan and Bill Simmons they both signed before he left Spotify. Joe Rogan deal was Sept. 1 2020. Bill Simmons deal was in June of the same year. When JBP took a 2 week vacation and came back and explained on the show they had took a Covid-19 related vacation to keep them safe, they received a call from Bill Simmons after he signed with Spotify with advice on how to Pod safely from separate locations. Go listen to JBP and you will see Joe Buddens is the ultimate spin master. He wants everybody to believe the shows and record deals he walked away from suffered because he left ultimately it’s him that’s suffering 🧢

    • @terrencewilliams4355
      @terrencewilliams4355 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is more of a question than a reply. If you let Joe tell it, before Rogan and Simmons came along... He had the top numbers. He was carrying spotty to the point they were secure enough to get a Rogan and Simmons. If true does he not deserve to get paid as an equal if he was the franchise?

    • @LFXMEDIA
      @LFXMEDIA 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@terrencewilliams4355 no. Spotify is a streaming platform that was just starting to sign podcast when Joe came along. Rogan proved his worth even tho I wouldn’t say 100 million and Simmons brought a whole network of podcast to Spotify. I agree with Joe Buddens for being upset about Rogans deal because Spotify allowed Rogan to remain the owner of his content but was forcing Joe Buddens to give Spotify ownership of his show and what Rory did and Parks the engineer. So maybe Joe Buddens had numbers that proved he was number one at the beginning but Magic can’t ask for Lebrons salary.

      If I was your franchise, that brought you to the point in getting a Rogan and Simmons, and you can't atleast give me ownership of my show, but the two white guys who are brand new and get that better deal without putting in work, then I would feel a certain kind of way.

      Budden helped to build Spotify’s exclusive podcasts. He was among the first two podcasts given exclusive deals and formerly their top or among their top podcasts. They tried to lowball him when it came to extension despite helping to build that part of Spotify. Basically, being in the music business made him aware of his value and that he was being undercut. Afterwards, Spotify went all out when it came to bringing in exclusive podcast talent that were already established celebrities who were familiar with the entertainment and/or who already had a huge following. Basically, learned from their mistake.

Pat McAfee has a sports podcast and as a former professional player he has access to lots of athletes. Joe Button has had a podcast for only 7 yrs. He is famous and will eventually get to Rogan's level by expanding his topics. There are no other black podcasters who have been around as long as Rogan. besides your talking about only 1 or 2 podcasters and there are millions not at that level. Even if Joe is right about Rogan's deal, how is that good for him? Either they weren't going to pay him or he walked away from a lot of money. I'm not sure where the win for him is in either scenario.

    • @TheUndertakerVII
      @TheUndertakerVII 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Measuring stick, no real deals were out in the public until Rogan. Now that Rogan is getting paid crazy money he is the standard to compare numbers to. To then negotiate what you should get paid if you come close to Rogan numbers then you should get paid close to Rogan if you're doing better than Rogan you should get paid more than Rogan
      That's how it's a win Rogan created a Bar

    • @Pyromanb
      @Pyromanb 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The win is in his head , pure fiction, the name of the game is spin the narrative

      It's not so much of a race thing...we forget we live in white America, where they outnumber us which means that Joe Rogan has a farther reach... black, white, brown etc... therefore he is far more valuable. Of course he would get more money...smh

    • @ericdoug7995

      @@TheUndertakerVII true but joe rogan got a way bigger audience, joe budden could eventually tap into a bigger one but he has a lot of controversy attached his name. Not to mention the whole sexual harassment thing was not a good look. Trying to smash coworkers and expressing it publicly can get you in trouble in this era.

    Rogan's pod reached a wider range than Budden's pod.
    Rogan could have Joey Diaz on Monday, Robert Downey on Tuesday and a Scientist on Wednesday.
    I loved the JBP since the beginning but both pods are completely different
