I have been watching your videos since my hen hatched her clutch 9 weeks ago. Love the videos. I have a question. One of the chicks was yellow when she was born. Now at 9 weeks she is a light yellow, not white. Do you know what color she is? I am in the US.
We mostly keep UK standard Silkies but by the sounds of it she might have gold or partridge in her genetics and depending on what the parents have been bred to they may carry light or dark yellow. It's very difficult to say without doing a genetic test which isn't available for poultry in many countries. Unless you have multiple chicks from that hatch which are the same colour it may well be a genetic mutation. I'm not an expert on American Silkie standard genetics as we keep UK standard ones but hopefully that has helped somewhat! 😊❤️
@FurNFowlSilkies Wow. Thank you. Her mother is a partridge, and her father is black brichen, I believe you would call him. The siblings to my little hen are black, grey, dark gray, and some like Dad. All beautiful. Thank you for responding.
You're great at observing the differences, I tend to be a little biased thinking it's a hen! but knowing it's a boy, & boys walk on their toes. ❤ Silkies! Seems a lot of people agree now!
Your video was wonderful! You are too!
Thank you so much my friend

Alright! I just got 2 2 1/2 week old silkie chicks! Let’s hope your method works and both of them are girls!
Good luck!! Let us know if it worked or not. All depending on the type of Silkie too. 🐓❤️
Wow impressive
Thank you for watching 😊❤️❤️❤️
