Wow that was kind of shocking. Having been a musician for more than a decade I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I've NEVER noticed that lead part during the verse. I don't feel too stupid though because if you listen to the album version the part is almost totally inaudible.
Jesus Christ, you can actually hear the lead, while in the album version it sounds muffled or somehow blended or subordinate to the rhythm guitar. Dude, this is awesome, i love it, this should really be the way to listen to good music and understand it, I love it, keep it up. I would love to have this kind of remaster on Be Here Now album. If you did that, I would just be your most loyal follower forever.
To those saying that it sounds awful; It doesn't, you're too used to the original release and I can hear that too, but it's more accurate to the true Oasis live sound. Of course this mix isn't perfect, some more levels could be adjusted to tone down the guitar tracks at certain points and turned up in others to give it the "power" that they were trying to achieve but it's still more dynamic and allows us to hear what should have been heard like the mid guitar track that you couldn't hear in the original which is a shame, and also considering the uploader obviously isn't the person who originally worked on the album, it sounds great for what it is.
Thank you so much, becuase that lead part is so amazing and you can barely hear it in the origianl recording because it us a mess and seems like everythings cluttered, but now you can hear everything and I just love it!
It's great to hear some individual parts (the first verses' jangly guitar is great, never heard that before!), but this lacks the punch of the original
i'm no mixing/mastering engineer (yet!), but here's a few settings that i found useful for getting an even clearer sound from these multitracks (with Audacity): drums_1.ogg: -7dB drums_2.ogg: -6dB drums_3.ogg: -11dB drums_4.ogg: -12dB guitar.ogg: -17dB rhythm.ogg: -15dB song.ogg: -8dB vocals.ogg: -8dB no compression or effects were used. a little more compression wouldn't hurt... but only just a tad! the volume changes at 0:40, 2:34, and 3:05 are not desirable, but i haven't figured out an easy way around it without further manipulating the dynamics of the multitracks (and complicating this process further). the guitar and bass parts are already quite squashed, so i'm not going to do any post-processing beyond changing the volume. (PS: you can mix them with their default settings [AKA no volume change] and it sounds pretty good on its own, but the vocals are way too low in my personal opinion)
I really like this version. However, I am disappointed that I can barely earn Noel's response to Liam's call at the end of song as that might be my favorite part of the song.
It's a shame that the real remasters of Definitely Maybe sound like shit, taking the exact opposite direction. RIP early oasis albums. You started the noise war and now it killed you.
Well, unless you know people in the music industry, the only way to fan remaster songs is to use the stems found in the files for games such as rock band or guitar hero.
The single version of this song is way more dynamic than the album version, for whatever reason. Also the Morning Glory US CD on Epic is significantly quieter than the UK Creation one.
its a nice experiment, but to me it sounds empty. the music industry didnt control the volume, owen morris controlled the dynamics, and for oasis' early albums, thats what worked. for me, the overall sound is more important than making sure you can hear all the intricacies of the individual elements
I like the fact that it is different from the original, it is very refreshing; however, I think you kind off overwhelmed the entire song. Sometimes the 'fuzziness' is good in a rock song.
It isn't a perfect mix of course but if they had made it sound similar to this originally then it would have sounded better than this and the original release.

So much detail lost in the original - it's an absolute disgrace. Maybe one day these original sources will be brought out and remastered properly when the world realises they've been taken for mugs...? I won't hold my breath.
It's amazing how how you can hear all the different parts so much clearer. Except noels outro harmonies. But... It sounds too sanitised and lacks the "in yer fookin face" of the original.
I was just listening to What's the Story Morning Glory and thought to myself, I wonder if anyone's done a remaster of this? I guess the individual tracks don't exist for that song hey?
There's been an announcement in MOJO magazine a day or so ago that DEFINITELY MAYBE is being remastered by noel et al, for the anniversary of it, with 3CD, 1CD and vinyl etc, so maybe we'll get to hear it with some smoother dynamics. If it works out, then maybe MORNING GLORY will be next and so on.
Sounds like a contradiction in terms but "Listen Up" is one of the most amazing songs ever made... yet it sounds like shit. Can't wait to hear what they do with that one in particular.
Noel is a bit contradictory in that he has said more recently that he hates the SOUND of the first two albums, due to the heavy distortion, but that was the reason or part of the reason they sold so well, cause they were louder than anyone and anything else on release at the time! Owen morris "brickwalled" everything, so there was no dynamics and it was just all max output, to simplify. To bring some dynamics back in, means some parts will be quieter and the mix will have more balance. It means a full on remix and remaster, which if that HAS happened, will be remarkable, cause you can really hear the difference on everything. We'll have to wait and see.
Yeah, I think this is the Guitar Hero version... I can tell by the outlying clean guitar in the verses and how it shifts between an overdrive effect and clean effect in the chorus very noticeably.
The inspiration from "She Bangs the Drums" is more evident in this mix. I could see why the original mix had the lead guitar's volume toned down. It just competes too much with the vocals and distracts. It sounds good but a bit busy. Sounds great at the big finish but not so much in the starting verses.
the pure energy and soul of the oasis songs comes out from overclipping method and that's what owen morris did when they are not satisfied thier first recording sessions of DM i respect your work but you kill the soul of the song
Sounds much better than original garbled album version....Good Job! It is a shame that modern music sounds so awful because of smartphones, laptops and tablets. I have remastered all modern albums that are in my collection, post 1994. I can't listen to the brickwalled and compressed muddy garbage that is out there. Young kids are unaware that the music they are listening to could sound so much better.
Interesting. I've never heard that lead guitar in the verses before, and not those parts in the chorus either! This mix sounds great. However, the backing vocals by Noel at the end should have been more upfront. It's a bit repetive to say the least...
Some might say that the brickwalling was totally intended Maybe they are right but still I prefer this version since the official (poorly) remastered version makes weird noises
I reckon it could have sounded a bit like Teenage Fanclub's Bandwagonesque had they got the right mix guy in to retain some dynamics. They sound like a Creation band for sure but I guess they needed to hit the FUCKIT button to save the label.
That one guitar is wayyyyyy too loud. The Guitar Hero: World Tour mix made it loud so that the players of the game could hear it while playing along since it’s normally very quiet. It’s not actually that loud in the mix, and you need to automate the volume of the guitar track to fix it. That’s what kind of ruins your mix.
There's a reason you can't hear Noel's part in the verses - it conflicts too much with the vocal here. Interesting take but the album version is clearly superior and this makes it sound jangly and unpolished. Just my opinion.
I still prefer the original to be honest. It seems more 'live' and has a bit more oomph to it. The version here is great to hear the individual parts but I've always thought that it sounds a bit flat and tinny sounding.
whats the point. oasis did it how they wanted and it sounded fucking great and it still does without your remixes. stfu about the 'loudness war'. everyone has their own style and if thats whats popping then thats what popping, deal with it and go listen to something you enjoy.

Sure some might say is a great song but had it nit have been mixed the way it was I don’t think it would have been a hit. the songs are, in my opinion, as good as Pop Music ever gets . . . but they _sound_ like SHIT. the vocals are perfect, but the guitars, bass, drums . . . not so good. the recording, the mixing, the mastering, it's all tinny and flat. if someone where to take that shit and remix it with today's bass-heavy production methods, it'd be absolutely incredible. it really speaks to the songs, though . . . the wall-of-sound approach is obnoxious as hell, yet these songs STILL soar. my favorite band, still.

PLEASE DO THIS WITH EVERY SONG EVER
I commented 12 years ago. I'm still very grateful for how this turned out. It is a very nicely polished version of an amazing song.
To those saying that it sounds awful; It doesn't, you're too used to the original release and I can hear that too, but it's more accurate to the true Oasis live sound. How Oasis would have sounded had they been an 80s band!
Can really hear Noels guitar playing. Love it!
I personally love it. So much clearer and you can hear it!! Perhaps some heaviness needed in the mix, but, this is already a joy to my ears.
Yeah dude, you're totally right. It does sound a teency bit flat here, but that jangle guitar sounds so magical.
Wow, it's finally listenable! I mean the sound. The song has always been great. This sounds so much better.
Thank you so much, becuase that lead part is so amazing and you can barely hear it in the origianl recording because it us a mess and seems like everythings cluttered, but now you can hear everything and I just love it!

Love this version! But I think all the power that made us love oasis is that freakin distorted brick sound that they got in a bunch of records
this kind of remaster would be awesome to Let's all make believe
WOW!!!!!! THE WHOLE SONG! INCLUDING THE LAST 10 SECONDS! YOU, SIR, ARE REALLY AMAZING FOR GETTING THIS! I'M GETTING THIS!!! :) :) :) :) :)
I think it sounds even better than the album version. Well done!
Can you do this for all of Be Here Now? And then edit 20 or so minutes of feedback off Be Here Now?
that'd be so great to hear
I think this mix was actually done for one of the Guitar Hero games and not by the uploader
@@Geforce2187 he got the stems from guitar hero and mixed it himself
Love at the end when Liam says “you know what some might say” with the “say” being lower in tone
Refreshing to hear it like this with all the Owen Morris sucked out of it.
Loving the Roses-esque guitar fill around 4:00 mark
Love this version soo much
an absolute pleasure for my ears
I really like this version. However, I am disappointed that I can barely earn Noel's response to Liam's call at the end of song as that might be my favorite part of the song.
this .... this is fantastic.
Do the same with Slide Away, and i will kiss your ass!
This track is my go to Blast, clear the cobwebs,,,wish I could have seen them live.
they were great :) for me only manic street preachers were better live, just my opinion
Thanks for that, sounds a lot better! Audio engineers in the 90s were on heavy drugs
Lucas Pinto too right !!
It's a shame that the real remasters of Definitely Maybe sound like shit, taking the exact opposite direction. RIP early oasis albums. You started the noise war and now it killed you.
MORNING GLORY DESPERATELY NEEDS THIS TOO!
Funny how I'm the only one who realises this is the version from guitar hero
Guitar Hero World Tour version came from the SACD version though, I doubt

The single was released a few months before the album, so they likely added some more compression before the release of the album.
brick walling on the oasis album was fully intended to obtain the specific 'sound' - wasn't necessarily about making the track louder
Noel said the mastering engineer had no clue about what he was doing. That the he would turn everything up to its limits
@@LucasAlvesMusic no he didn’t, Owen Morris knows exactly what he’s doing

I'm glad you didn't raise the handclaps in the mix like in other fan remasters. They sound so cheesy

넌 날 북돋을 생각은 않은 채 뻔한 소리만 늘어놓는구나
The sink is full of fishes
싱크대는 생각들로 가득찼어
She's got dirty dishes the brain
