  • Used this particular gun in our review of the KKM Precision Match barrel this past summer. This is a full review on Glock's 3rd Generation model 20c chambered in 10mm Auto. It's a beast, the video speaks for itself.

    Best Glock made. I have exactly that model. Fits me perfectly and the damned thing is absolutely deadly accurate. I can see why the Norwegians carry them in Iceland for Polar bears. It fits my hand, I don't have big hand but I have long fingers so the 20C is perfect. I carry it (along with my 29) in the Utah backwoods in case a black bear or brown decides I'm looking like lunch. What an amazing handgun. Thank you for a terrific video.

    Just purchased the G20SF and was at the range today for the first time. Today I shot my G36, G30 and my XD40sc and I must say the G20 was the best feel. Powerful yet not over bearing. Best pistol I've shot by far. Thanks for sharing.

    Nice video. At first I was a little biased towards glocks, but then I found out about the glock 20c. Great handgun.

    the glock 40 looks really cool too, they say the longer slide reduces recoil like crazy and then you have the longer sight radius as well

    The Glock large frame really is a great fit for the 10mm round. I just picked up a G29 SF and can't wait to get it on camera. It's a fiery little beast.

    I almost forgot, thanks for the video, I will be subscribing, anyone who likes 10mm is a friend of mine! Also I couldn't believe you were shooting out in the snow! Not because it was cold or the Glock couldn't handle it, but I was cringing every time I saw a precious 10mm casing fall in the snow! I'm the guy at the range standing behind you trying to catch your 10mm brass before it hits the ground! (or before you notice it's gone.)

    The rubber coated gloves would be a big plus any other day, but if I remember right that day in December was something like 6 degrees when I got to the range. Max of 12 Fahrenheit when I left! So the 10mm sting was plenty evident gloves or not.

    Great video! I love the G20 and I love the cold & snow! I know how satisfying it can be to run thru a few magazines of hot ammo on a cold day, just to get the lead out! Keep 'em comin', buddy!

    i have had the glock 20 and shot my buddies 19c , then i traded my 20 in and got a 20c . as you know they are pretty good guns to have with 15 rounds and ported too .

  • @hausofguns
    @hausofguns  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Fortunately those casings were hot enough when they fell to melt a little path down to the bottom so they were easy to find. :) I pick up everyone else's brass too! Also after having put it under a chronograph since I think you would be surprised at how slight the velocity loss is on the round. You'd have to put it side by side in some ballistics gel next to a non-ported barrel, but the trade off seems worth it.

  • @hausofguns
    @hausofguns  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    A ported 10mm is hard to beat. Especially with hot rounds.

    • @ChadBod
      @ChadBod ปีที่แล้ว

      You just got in my algorithm. The 10 mm starts losing ballistics as soon as it goes through the first ports out the barrel . Try a 9x25 barrel .

  • @hausofguns
    @hausofguns  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Mazryonh Some ammo manufacturers don't do a great job of loading the correct powder or the right amount (sometimes too much) in their rounds and there is more muzzle flash than normal out the barrel as the residual powder is consumed when it gets to oxygen. BUT the "C" models, especially because of how far back they place the ports. LOTS of powder left when the flash shoots out the top of the barrel. VERY cool to watch in slow mo.

    Love this caliber, and I love my Glock 20C also. Grip size is perfect for me, actually seems kinda small - then again I'm used to my desert eagle 50 also.

    I wonder if Glock is going to come out with any Gen 4 'C' models~~~ great review~ what state are you in??? Las Vegas is warm and sunny!

  • @hausofguns
    @hausofguns  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not sure I've heard of Underwood ammo. Will have to look into them.

  • @hausofguns
    @hausofguns  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Triggers are identical. The "C" models have nothing to do with performance of internals. Simply 2 slots/ports in the barrel and slide.

    Nice gun. So much for the frozen north! Time to build an igloo for cover, may be some polar bears around.

    A lot of whatever is available. Most of the time it's medium to dark breakfast roast style coffee. Big fan of Caribou blend FWIW.

    For everyone concerned with the the compensated models please do not waste your time and dollar. They take more effort to clean. The recoil reduction is minimal. The ports do take some of the muzzle velocity away from the bullet...minimal but still.

  • @hausofguns
    @hausofguns  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @meforgodforall I agree that the field strip on the XDm is easy, but I'd disagree if we tried to say that it's equally as easy as a Glock. IMO these are the best in the biz.

  • @jweezyadig
    @jweezyadig 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I personally think that having a compensated Glock 20 defeats the purpose of the 10mm round, or at least my own purpose, I just don't think the loss of velocity is worth it, but to all their own. Guess you could always use a non-ported barrel whenever you want and it gives you more options. I love my Glock 20 and my Gock 29 and Glocks are my favorite pistol, but DO NOT like DT's watered down 10mm, BB and Underwood is where it's at now. Underwood's 10mm is only 30 dollars for 50 with Gold Dots.

    My understanding "SF" stands for "short frame". Not "slim frame"
    .

    15 rounds of 10 mm , (16, if you go with one in the chamber,) is a shit storm of firepower you launch at an enemy.
    You do not want to be on the working end of this Glock.
    I love, love, love my Glock 20 & 29.

    @ALGARETEFULL I've heard good things. I'm actually looking at replacing my Glock 23 with the same on and it's essentially still new. When I get it I'll do a review, I've also heard it helps with recoil a bit too, but that's just speculation right now.

    I will soon be getting a Glock 20 and am torn between compensated and non compensated. have you had a chance to shoot both? if so is there any notable difference. some folks say the compensated one will reduce your muzzle velocity... I will use it for bear or wolf defense in the Idaho wilderness. wondering if one would be more suited than the other

    @COLT45keith I think I did say I tend to exaggerate a bit didn't I? Thanks for noticing my grip, it's something I try to be very conscious of. That said, I probably should have said muzzle flip instead of recoil. The recoil is more noticeable, and the size of the shooter will depend on how substantial that is.

    Do you have any suggestion about reloading the 10mm with 180gr bullet LTC and Vihtavuori N340 powder? I have a Colt Delta Elite 5" barrel. Thanks.

  • @grantlandneil
    @grantlandneil 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    You would have to buy a 20c and then have a gun shop modify the grip to fit your hand. It's not uncommon at all.

  • @Mazryonh

    Most of the vids I've seen for the Glock 20C have big muzzle flashes. Maybe they just load their rounds hotter.

    Man i have medium hands my budy has a Glock 21 and the 10MM frame is the same width just to big and the other model of 10mm is just to much for that small frame the recoil is probaly killer!!

    I bet through ruber-coated gloves help a lot on handeling that way. Been wanting to test fire a Glock 29c if I could ever find one.
