Happy Birthday! Celebrate yourself. You are living your dream and overcoming all obstacles that stand in your way....that's amazing! The video was absolutely gorgeous. Please know that you are a shining example of what positive aging is all about.
Lynn thank you so much for your birthday wishes. I didn't get to celebrate on my actual birthday as I had to just stay inside my rig but it was definitely a birthday I will never forget. I did end up celebrating the following days. I felt good overcoming that obstacle. Even though it wasn't fun to be so cold several mornings in a row, I was proud of myself for getting through it okay. People that were camped around me were worried about me which was so sweet. I walked into my neighbor's RV one morning and it was so hot and stuffy in there. They had the heat up high. It's nice they were able to do that but I was feeling proud that I toughed it out. I realize I have a capacity to be fairly uncomfortable. Could be due to the chronic pain I have suffered over most of my life. Thank you again for your kind comment and about positive aging.
It truly was beautiful scenery and I enjoyed every minute of it. I was able to photograph those mountains at the right time of day where the light was just right.
Hi Karen, thank you so much and I'm glad you enjoy watching my videos. My first time adding some music to the video and it took me a long time to edit but it was fun. I had to learn how to edit as I went along. One draft did not work out and I had to start all over again. Took hours and hours. But fun anyway.
Happy belated birthday! The snow looks beautiful but "Brrrrr" seems like an understatement. ;) I grew up in snow and have never slept in those temps. I'm glad your wool kept you comfy. Good for you for hanging in there and reaping the rewards with your walk the next morning.
Hi Tracy, thank you so much for the birthday wishes. I was wondering about that. If people who grow up in snow have to sleep in such cold temps. I guess they would if their heaters not working but otherwise why would you? I actually had about three nights of pretty cold temps. Not the best, but I survived. The wool and down definitely kept me warm at night. It was just hard to get up and out of bed and get dressed. The next morning was so beautiful and when that sun started to come out it was glorious. Thanks so much for your support and for watching and commenting.
According to the weather forecasters, it was rare to get that much snow in such a short amount of time at this time of year. I think my elevation was around 5,000 ft. I don't think they see snow at that elevation this late in the season. The RV resort had to cancel a bunch of activities they had planned outdoors.
I bought the Fire Maple Sunflower Stove/Heater to use in my Kelty Backroads. You can use it as a backup stove or a heater. I have not used it yet, though.
Hi Cheryl, I found out on this trip that I seem to be quite allergic to propane which is a bit of a problem. It would give me a horrible, long-lasting migraine headache. So I'm now looking for alternatives like an induction stove. But in order to use an induction stove, I will most likely need to be plugged in to electricity since it has such a big draw. Sure I could get more solar but that's expensive and I don't want to outlay that money to begin with. Anyway, I was still check out your suggestion and see what it's like. Thanks so much for supporting my channel, watching and commenting. Much appreciated. Take care of yourself.
I sleep best when it’s chilly. I live in Minnesota and we all keep thermostats cool overnight all winter. I prefer 50 degrees overnight of course it makes me want to stay in bed under a down comforter until coffee is ready. I like your side tent.
Wow 50°. That's really chilly. I don't like it when it gets down to 60° here. But I definitely like it on the cooler side. 42° was probably the coldest I've ever slept in but as long as I'm warm under the covers, I'm good. Then I can actually sleep but if it's too cold, then I can't sleep. It was getting up and having to throw off the covers and then get dressed and then go outside when it was quite uncomfortable. I grew up in Las Vegas and then California so I'm only used to the very warm weather but I did okay. I was marveling at the snow. Not something I get to see very often.
What a great video. The scenery is glorious! Just at awe at the beauty God has created. Check out a class B , it's more like driving a van and not to large. Again I really enjoyed this video with all the lovely scenery.
Thank you so much. I loved your comment because it is something that my late mother would have said. About the beauty God has created. She would have loved this video because she loved nature and beauty. Perhaps she was speaking through you. Thank you again. So happy to hear you enjoyed it.
Ive seen some people use electric blankets and have one of those power banks to plug into. That may work for colder weather. Maybe you've already thought about this.
Hi Karen, thanks. I know about those electric blankets but I don't own one. I was actually plenty warm under my wool and down comforters, it was when I was getting up in the morning and getting dressed or sitting inside my rig that I got a bit cold and when I had to go outside. The snow and cold was unexpected and I probably would have not brought an electric blanket even if I had one thinking that it was not going to be needed. But lesson learned, weather can turn on a dime.
Thank you Nancy for the birthday wishes. Happy birthday to you as well! Congrats on buying a new trailer. Natural to feel scared. Take baby steps. Thank you for your support!
@@victoriagoingforit6183 the bigger ones definitely are I had one and yep .. especially with bigger tires etc. And that one is towing.. probably slow as a turtle too lol.
YOur morning walk through the snow covered pine trees actually brought tears of joy. Thank you so much for sharing .

What Beautiful Scenery in the Mountains! Thank you for sharing this lovely adventure!
It truly was beautiful scenery and I enjoyed every minute of it. I was able to photograph those mountains at the right time of day where the light was just right.
I would organize snacks in your tear drop camper and a way to make coffee or tea etc .
Maybe keep a high quality thermos of hot coffee and a thermos of hot soup when expecting harsh weather so no worries about pulling meal together...

Im surprised its rare this time of year because Colorado gets snow in mountains till June. See what you get to experience and talk about 😸

I know, exactly. It's hard to predict weather anymore as it's all over the map. Makes things more challenging.
