"Herr Mannelig" is a medieval folk song from Sweden. It tells the story of a Mountain Troll who proposes to a young man.
I'm using my new tagelharpa in this arrangement! What do you think?
This video is my first time using a green screen, and I'm still figuring out chroma keying. (It especially seems to struggle with my hair...) I apologize for the glitching that I tried to hide with a texture.

Wow, this has got to be the first time i have seen this song property translated by lyrics.
I am a natural linguist, my brain auto draws connections between subtitles and sounds which prompted me to go ohhhh this time.
Though, one question. In another version it translated Rosalund as grave of roses. Was grove meant to be a typo in the subtitles?
Yes, the swedish word "lund" means grove. Grave would be "grav." :)

Muminsvenska :) Jag är från norra Sverige och jag tycker det låter mycket härligare än rikssvenska, känns mer familjär och lugnt på något sätt. Folk från söderöver brukar ju missta norrländska för finlandssvenska, även om jag inte tycker de är särskilt lika.

Swedish is a little hard languge to prononce n I have heard a lot of covers of Garmarnas version of this song but not all have been good. This cover however is realy awsume so realy good work n it was worth beein up all night to be able to sing this awsumeness! U should b proude this is super awsume! Garmarna n Emma is such a mega super awsume group n artist.

But Herr Mannelig is not actually an original song by Garmarna, it's a Swedish medieval folk song. :) The first recorded version of it was released in 1877, but it's existed for much longer than that.
Garmarna's version is a very popular one, but they didn't write it.

I never actually paid any real attention to the tagelharpa... until now. I like how you created that constant sounding "wave" throughout the whole song with it. It gives a very eerie feeling. Can't wait to hear what more you do with it in the future!
