Hi all, there are some corrections regarding the best line. In my video (34:13) there is one point below and four points above the line. It is actually unbalanced. The line needs to be adjusted so that the number of point differences above and below the line can't be more than one. And the distance between the line to the point can't be more than 0.5cm. Please take note. TQ
@@wani_siroj Hi Shazwani, the scale must be 1 unit: multiple 1, 2, 5, 10... In this experiment 0.1 or 0.2, it depends on your reading, scale of axis X and Y can be different. The size of graph you draw must be at least half a page of the graph paper.
@@wani_siroj Hi, do you mean 0.215 (between 0.21-0.22)? Should be no problem for 0.000, 0.005. It is not accurate to plot 0.001, 0.008.... Hope you get what I mean.☺️🙏
@@MrPehKH ouhh understood means if i want to plot the point 0.342 then i should round off to 0.34 to get accurate plotted point right sir.. Tqvm sir for helping🥺

Hi, better to draw at beginning so that you can place your semicircle at the same position. Or you can just mark the initial position of semi circle... the most importance need to show the angle of incidence and refraction
Hi, thank you for your video, I just have a small question At 31:14 , shouldnt the x-axis be "sin i", since x-axis is the manipulated variable? Why do we put the sin i in the y-axis? Thanks sir ;)
Hi KM, we plot based on the question. The question in my video asked to plot sin i against sin r. So that the gradient = refractive index, n. If question ask you to plot sin i against sin r and the gradient = 1/n.
Hi Kendric, NO... Have you gone through my live video? Dp of Primary data need refer to sensitivity of apparatus. Example: smallest division of protractor 1 degree so no d.p needed; smallest division of metre rule 0.1cm, so 1d.p.... calculation data can remain in 2, 3 or 4 d.p. Make d.p for all data that are consistent.
Hi sir, how to know if they want us to write the procedure for determining the refractive index or the critical angle? Can see in activity 6.3 where the same apparatus and materials are provided.
Hi Jole, both experiment using the same apparatus. To determine critical angle, light rays are directed to the curve edge. Refractive index can get from formula n = 1/sin c. However, refractive index normally we determine i and r. So the light beam directed to the flat edge. Pls see my live teknik menjawab to get more info. @@jole3212 Hi Jole, yes. As optical density increases, n increases. this can be discussed with this formula n = 1/sin c. Example diamond has higher n, smaller c, so that total internal reflection occurs easily in diamond. And make diamond shiny
Thanks sir, this came out. However for the graph part it was plot r against i, so the gradient was 0.6 something. They also asked "What would happen to the gradient of the 'r vs i' if a diamond block was used instead. The answer should be reduced right? since r will be reduced in denser medium
Hi KM, you are right. The gradient decreases as r decrease (move towards normal). The higher the refractive index, the slower the speed of light, the light move towards normal, r decreases.
@@nameremixx9311 Hi, the graph should be slightly curve from origin. However, the marker will follow the results of your teacher. And 2 marks for graph only... 😁
HI slurpidubb, I think you are refer to textbook activity 6.3, Pg 242. This is the experiment to determine critical angle and total internal reflection. If you want to get a refractive index, the light ray is directed to the flat edge which is opposite Activity 6.3. Pls refer to my live video which I did the comparison between these two experiments. Hello sir, I'm quite bit confused with the triangle part. Are we not supposed to draw the line at the last coordinate? How did u get 0.6,0.83? Thank you ❤️
Hi Azzam, no problem for you to draw until you last coordinate. Sometimes, best line not meet the last point. So, need at least draw you triangle with 4 x 5 unit. So, my end point for the triangle is at 0.6, 0.83. Hope you understand. TQ
