Glenda Jackson’s portrayal of Queen Elizabeth I caused my interest in Tudor history which eventually evolved into my profession as a European history teacher. She was so talented.
My dad acted as male lead opposite Glenda Jackson in repertory theatre the year before she was filmed as Queen Elizabeth I. My mother has always said she was an incredible force, and didn't behave as young women of the early 1960s should! She sat with her legs apart, for a start! She was loud, upfront, and blunt. She had s strong masculine quality to her, so my mother was fascinated to learn she was playing King Lear. My mother, and most people, found her quite intimidating. Part of that intimidation was due to her talent and stage presence. She was well respected, and it was no surprise to my parents that she had huge success with Elizabeth I. It's extraordinary what we find inspiration in. ✨️
@@daniellamcgee4251 , awesome. So whom was you father, may I ask. I grew up with British TV and perhaps I might recognize his name. You are right she was a straight forward person.

Treat Williams's death just breaks my heart, handsome with his dimples and a great actor too, I remember his role in Small Sacrifices as the detective and he later adopted the two children who survived their mother shooting them, the real detective did, I will miss him!
I can't believe it has been 15 years since Tim Russert passed away. It doesn't seem too long ago since I heard the sad news of his passing. He anchored Meet The Press, way back when they were unbiased.
I saw Treat Williams perform in David Mamet's "America Buffalo" at the Dorset Theatre in 2017, in the same town where he was later killed. That connection made me feel even more sad about his death.
Absolutely heartbreaking! I must say, out of all the " great ones" who have passed the past several years, this loss was the toughest. Been his fan for decades; he had it all. And, to the end, kept his sanity, dignity, and integrity...something extremely RARE for anyone who makes show business their life's chosen profession...oh, how he will be missed!
Yes, I agree. I was shocked when I heard about. It always makes it more devastating when someone dies as a result of an accident. He had always been one of my favorite actors. RIP to him and everyone else.

Man, Treat Williams, so sad. I rode motorcycles, trail & cruisers, all my life until I turned 50, about 10 years ago. They are just too dangerous, especially on the streets of California. Plus I didn't want my son to get tempted as he entered his teen years. RIP Treat.

Pro Swiss cyclist Gino Mäder, 26, died yesterday from a crash into a ravine on a descent during the Tour de Suisse. Super sad. He was a rising star in cycling. Also, thoughtful dedicating a franc for every person behind him in the races toward climate change.
God that's awful. I hope that it was quick for him, it's just so horrible to think of someone being terrified in a situation like this. My cousin was only 37 when the plane he was flying slammed into the side of a mountain in bad weather. 8 people, including Dan, were killed and only 2 survived. This broke my aunt, as she had now lost 2 children and 2 grandchildren, but in the 3 years leading up to Dan's death, she lost her 2 remaining siblings, her father and her husband. She was haunted by when Dan realized what was about to happen, and how long he was scared. It was heartbreaking to see. We spoke on the phone several times a week, and she told me that she was simply waiting until she could die. Then one day she called and she sounded different, lighter somehow. She then said "I've met someone!" And she stopped waiting to die. Sorry, I seem to have spun off into what I call, ADHD Land, lol. 61 and just diagnosed, at least I know why I do it now, so that's something! Have a great day/night depending on where you live. ✌️ from 🔥🇨🇦🔥
@ LOUISE JOHNSON hi Louise, ... appreciate your story... I'm 64 from Hawaii and somehow follow pro cycling? I actually went to a race this year in Spain bc i was around..... I think it has international appeal, beautiful scenery and there are several ways to win depending on skills... climbing, sprinting, one day races, 3 week races general overall ... I had been following his career for a few years. He'd had stage wins already and often finished in the top tier. Probably most pro riders go an entire career without such success. The point is he was really a sweet young man with a family who loves him. He was resuscited but later succumbed to his injuries. These cyclists are some of the fittest and most courageous on the planet. They didn't race the following day but did a tribute ride in his honour. Plus he has a super hero name Gino Mäder and easy to remember. I don't know if it would be helpful to his parents to know that he has inspired people of all ages across the globe. There are several conditions that can cause a young person’s death. He could have had Cystic Fibrosis which isn’t as rare as some may presume. Cardiomyopathy is another possibility. I appreciate these memorials very much. They are very respectfully presented and do honor 🎖 to the people being memorialized. They are a nice opportunity to remember these wonderful people. Thank you.
But at least Judy Garland didn’t have to sit in the back of a room , away from the same people that was with her in the movies, that she starred in. Hattie McDaniels couldn’t even sit at the same table with her acting peers!
Sad to hear about Treat Williams. I first saw him in his very first movie with Donald Sutherland in "The Eagle Has Landed". His death could have been prevented because it looks like he was hit by a man driving his vehicle from the opposite direction and turning into a parking lot in front of Treat who was riding his motorcycle. More than likely this driver wasn't even looking before turning into the parking lot and based on the police, Treat didn't even have any time to avoid the crash into the side of the vehicle.
I had wondered if there were going to be charges. Just terrible. I saw on one of the utubes , Treat had just put out on one of the social sites, sitting with morning coffee, loving the view of Beautiful Vermont. May the Lord comfort, his loving family, and those that also need strength and comfort, today. ✨🕊✨
Bro that was straight up reckless and u killed a icon..Man as a 46 year old black man this hurts and the shock may never go away,by far one of my fav actors

May the wind, rain, and sun spirits give comfort to those who have passed recently, and may the spirits give comfort to the families of those who have passed recently too. So sad about the tragic loss of Treat Williams. I lost my cousin in 1969 to a tragic car accident as he was a passenger in a car where 4 people were killed. He was 20 yrs old and had just served 2 yrs in Vietnam too.
@@buckjohnson1119 Yes it is. What is even more sad is the guy driving the car with my cousin and two other guys. Four young guns were in a car on December 20, 1969, and there were no seat belts in cars in those days all were killed in a rural area of Ohio outside of Columbus. But what is even eerier is my cousin predicting his own death in a car accident when I had seen him in 1967. I still think of him a lot and he would have been 74 now if he had lived. He was my mother's youngest sister's son and had an older brother and a younger brother and a younger sister at the time. And his own father was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium in WW2. Well I know Richard is at peace now with his grandparents and his parents who joined him later on with two nephews who were named after him too.
@@SanFernandoValleyRose There is a lot here. Your cousin having the ability to sense what was to be. It put him closer to God . Then the brave Father that fought in the Battle of the Bulge . A true hero. The hell they went through. I met a Veteran that had walked 600 miles when a prisoner of the Germans, after that battle. I’m sorry for your loss of your Cousin, when so young . May your Souls reunite some day, with Joy. ✨🕊✝️✨

Treat Williams also played D.B. Cooper, in the movie, "The Pursuit of D.B. Cooper" in (1981). About the famed sky-jacker who successfully parachuted to his escape with $200,000 dollar's in (1971). A massive search for him ... TO THIS DAY, has turned up NOTHING.
Let's not forget Christina Victoria Grimmie (Mar 12, 1994 - Jun 10, 2016), the young American singer and TH-camr who was senslessly killed by an obsessed fan 7 years ago.
Not to take away from anyone else, but John Romita is the one that hit me personally. I'm a lifelong comic fan and his contributions to the superhero genre will live on for decades, maybe even centuries to come.
Homer Jones, I remember watching him play football for the New York Giants from 1965 to 1969. I was just watching a documentary on him, just a few days ago. Was hoping he would make it to the Hall of Fame. RIP Homer.
I am so sad to hear this! I met Homer at a car dealership in Spring Valley New York when he was signing autographs for fans! I got to shake his hand and it was huge compared to a twelve year old! He was one of the first real speedsters along with Bullit Bob Hayes! RIP Homer Jones!

"James Watt" was included in Johnny Carson's parody of the WHO'S ON FIRST skit, as "Watt? Hu? Y?" And John Romita Sr. OH MY. Those were great years for wanna-be comic artists who had been raised in the stylized art of Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and eventually Jim Steranko, Gil Kane and so many others. Romita championed a wonderful realism that also benefited from better paper, inking processes but would ultimately be undone by the Marv Goldman mob-types.
@@williambilyeu9801 Oooh, yes, back in ?? SP 34? 35? 37? Shadow or something covered her face. Just as well. I seriously doubt that Romita was hired just because he could draw a variety of lovely female faces, but i was a pretty smart choice IF that was the reason. I thought Cover 39 or 40 (?? Goblin lasso'd and 'airlifted' Peter Parker away) was full of great proportioning and far more realistic artwork. But I adored Ditko's hands in all things, going back to his '50s work in Westerns/gunfighter comix.

I espexially appreciate your giving reference to family who dont want to share the cause of their loved ones death. RIP Treat and Glenda and all the others.
Glenda Jackson was one of the best Actress in history.
Like many others here, I was shocked to read about Treat Williams. And Glenda Jackson.
Rest in peace Treat Williams!
All will be missed. For me, Treat Williams will be missed greatly.
Condolences to the families of those who passed away. It’s nice to remember those who have died years ago. ❤
Really sad, painful the passing of Treat Williams, whom I fell in love with in
Prince Of The City...😢😢😢
I just watched Glenda Jackson's last starring movie this past weekend. RIP to a wonderful actress and all others who have passed away.
Thanks for sharing ❤️🙏🏽❤️
Damn, Cormac McCarthy, Glenda Jackson, and Treat Williams, in one week. 😢
Cormac's "No Country For Old Men" scared the mess out of me. Great Texas literature, tho.
Death spares no one.
I appreciate these memorials very much. They are very respectfully presented and do honor 🎖 to the people being memorialized. They are a nice opportunity to remember these wonderful people. Thank you.
Thank you !
R.I.P. to one of my favorite Marvel comics artists John Romita Sr. whose work I thoroughly appreciated...
A LEGEND NO DOUBT!!! R.I.P. Mr.Romita,Thank you for ALL you did sir!!!
RIP to all we have lost.
Glenda Jackson has not been mentioned for her stunning performance as Elizabeth 1 why, hers was the most convincing portrayal
Human greatness does not lie in wealth or power, but in character and goodness.
Anne Frank - 1929 -1945 - RIP.
Both Judy and Hatties movies were 1939. Hattie won her Oscar in 1940. The academy awards began in 1929. So a short 11 years before her win.
✨🕊✨
😓
Bro that was straight up reckless and u killed a icon..Man as a 46 year old black man this hurts and the shock may never go away,by far one of my fav actors
I fell in love with Treat Williams when I saw “Hair!” After that, I watched for things that he was in. He was an extremely good actor that played in many and varied roles. I am one of many that will miss him. R.I.P. Treat 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
That’s sad to hear of your Cousin. Surviving the war of Viet Nam, but lost in a motor vehicle, so Young. 😢
✨🕊✨
There’s no wind, rain and sun spirits the only one that can give true comfort is Jesus Christ, John 3:16
@@bobbyjones8752It's all part of the same thing, nature and being spiritual came from/was created from the same source.
I’m sorry for your loss of your Cousin, when
so young . May your Souls
reunite some day, with Joy.
✨🕊✝️✨
Just hearing about Tweat. My sister dated him when they both attended Franklin and Marshall college in Lancaster Pa. She has since passed, and said she broke up with him after he talked her into seeing him Off Broadway nude in Hair: She figured he would “not amount to much.” 🙄
Ha ha ha ha
RIP Ray Lewis III and prayers for Ray Lewis a former Baltimore Ravens football player and the boys mom and siblings as well as the 15 Canadian Elders that were taken in an awful semi accident and the 10 injured prayers for them to heal and all of the family members affected whom will all probably be mentioned in next weeks video as these just occured yesterday June 15, 2023
Z. Z.
Too many healthy people dying of heart attacks
🙏 RIP Mr. Romita. Thank you for all the joy you brought to comic geeks like myself. 😢😢
Something strange about all these people just suddenly dying. The link with Covid-19 and damage done to internal organs has already been identified.
Tupac Shakur accomplished a lot for a man who died at 25. Rip to all.
Let's not forget Christina Victoria Grimmie (Mar 12, 1994 - Jun 10, 2016), the young American singer and TH-camr who was senslessly killed by an obsessed fan 7 years ago.
I am so shocked by the news of the death of Treat Williams... such a geeat loss. One of my favourute actors and I believe a truly nice man ❤
Not to take away from anyone else, but John Romita is the one that hit me personally.
Love treat Williams he was a gifted actor always played a villain. Rip
Treat, played more than villains. He played in Hallmark, family oriented, movies also. Quite, eclectic.
Loved Lifetime movies back in the 90's, Treat always had a villain type role, good movies and times back then, RIP
I absolutely Loved Treat!!!
"Natural causes" at age 38? Seems pretty young.
Skeptical on that one...
Can you say "vaxx"?
Hi @anaximander66 - thank you for your kind words. We recently made a short video where we examine the truth about the phrase “natural causes,” and you can watch that here: th-cam.com/video/9SEPPE7VJLQ/w-d-xo.html
How does a guy like Ian McGuinty die "naturally" at 38?".
I was thinking the same thing. That’s horrifying.
Health issue
Rest in Peace to those who have passed and condolences, hugs and prayers to their families and friends.
I must disagree with the statement about "Mary Jane Watson." She was introduced by Steve Ditko, although he kept her hidden from the comic book fans.
Too many young ones on here.
R.I.P to everyone of them.
Remember the ones gone too
Sad to hear about those losses😯 I was shocked to hear about the recently departed Treat Williams😳 I recall seeing quite a few of his TV movies. He was Capt. Clark in The Eagle Has Landed film from '76. R.I.P. to them all😇
Rest In Peace to all those who left to soon, and for all those who serve our great country “Thank you”!
It's been a tragic week
A few bad ones got taken....so not all tragic....
It's been a tragic YEAR. So many celebrities gone this year!!💔💔💔
