    Nothing better than a Saturday Night Tractor Pull at the County Fair back in the 70’s. Thee best of times!

    Now this is what I call tractor pulling! The prostock classes are exciting in their own way but these guys & girls are the foundation of pulling. Awesome video, thank you

    Awesome video, love watching these stockers loaded up with weight and steadily pulling down the track. Would love to see some more Ollies out there.

      i also perfer the ''more stock'' tractors ... like they coulda just been out there plowing the field and cuttin the hay the day before!! ;) even if they are only ''pullers'' and don't even go out into the fields... I still perfer these kinda classes ;)

    Rule #1. Find all the weight and put it on your tractor

  • @UrokLizard
    @UrokLizard 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    is the 17000 pounds the weight limit of the tractor or the weight of the sled?

    • @robertheinkel6225
      @robertheinkel6225 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tractor. The sled weight and speed of weight transfer, is adjusted to get most of the tractors close to a full pull.

    Do those tires have liquid in them? Would that help or hurt?

    • @nathanmace3936
      @nathanmace3936 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually you don't want any weights on the wheels. Rotational mass tells you light as possible on the wheels means more power to the dirt. That's why the high dollar tractors run aluminium rims.

      Hard to say who is running loaded (ligiud filled) tires. Lbs to the ground is the goal , with exceptions due to the many variables in tractor pulling. For these tractors running at slow speeds a loaded tire , I've found, helps as it gives specific pressure (tread to track) at low speeds. And yes the other commenter is also correct in their statement pertaining to lightweight drives and high RPM. ......and then there is the science of power track vs speed track when it comes to weight placement , pertaining to your "help or hurt" inquiry. I hope this helps

      @@nathanmace3936 it's been my experience changing to aluminum wheels was out of necessity along with overall lightening of the chassis to gain movable weight to the front end of the vehicle to maintain control not so much for parasitic gains.

      Dear booze hound,you pose an interesting 🤔 question my brother and I have been pulling stock farm tractors for about 30 years, when I say stock I mean even the maximum horsepower is checked. there are so many variables it seems any combination of tires, ballast, hitch position,track position,and pulling order can make or break one's day.

  • @tomkrause62
    @tomkrause62 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    They could drop the weight back 1500-2000lb and save them guys a lot of weight carrying.

    There's farm stock tractors that can go out to the field and then there's the 'farm stock' tractors with the tin over the engine hiding bigger fuel pumps and injectors

    • @marinepete9148
      @marinepete9148 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Then there's conspiracy fringe lunatics thinking the tin is there to "hide" something. It's in case turbo grenades.
      If you don't know what your talking about don't put mouth in gear.
