Just got back home from his concert at Carnegie hall. He played this for encore. I, with my heart of stone, managed to cry during the first movement of Chopin 1. To hear him live was life changing. Absolutely amazing.
He is blind but talented. This phrase doesn’t describe what it. He is talented. That’s it. He is one of the best pianists.

this must be the first time for me to say the word 'unbelievable' after the play. I know exactly how this is difficult because i've been playing piano for 12 years.. Honestly, if i had listened only the sound, i would nor never knew that the player DOESN'T SEE anymore.

After hearing his unbelievable perfect playing performing one of the most difficult classical pieces -- Liszt' La Campanella -- No doubt to say that Nobu is one of the greatest pianists in the modern era. He can prove that playing music with heart and soul is much more accurate than with naked eyes. What a Great Work! Love it much! Hat's off & Salute! 👍🏻👍🏻

I had the privilege & honor to see him live, and he played this piece. Loved it beyond words. He is in my mind, the greatest pianist to walk this earth- before, now, and to come. If you ever get the chance to see him, DO! You won't be disappointed! Hands down my favorite pianist❣

Dang! This is incredible! La Campanella is one the hardest piano pieces even with fully functional eyes. He managed do do it without being able to see! He is so gifted!

2:54〜奇跡。なぜこの跳躍地獄の難所を目が見えないのにこのテンポで弾けるのでしょうか？それもほぼ無傷で。音楽の神様に守られているとしか思えない。
速さとか技術とか、そういう話じゃないように思います、辻井さんのピアノは。
本当に素晴らしい。

本当にその通りだと思います。「ここはこれ位の強さとテンポで弾きたい！」と言う思いが自然と指先に伝わる様に努力された結果と彼の優れた感性が皆さんの心を掴んでいるのではないでしょうか。

I don't know what it is about this, but it is by far and large my top favorite La Campanella. Always in pure awe every time I see Nobuyuki's performance. Even aside from his ailment, by sound alone you can really feel he is just one with the piece. Always incredible to see

辻井さんの弾き方は聞き手側に解釈を委ねる余白みたいなものがある感じがして聞いてて心地いい！

There are two problems he must face. The first is easier; capability to play it. The second is unbelievably hard; how does he learn it? When we mere mortals hear a piece, even many times, we don’t absorb a full score with all the notes. It’s just so incredible what he’s capable of doing!!
人間に生まれてきてよかった…そしてこの世にはこんな素晴らしい音楽があるじゃないかと思った…。
文明の続く限り残すべき演奏・映像 1000年先 万年先まで残してほしい。半世紀前の偉大な指揮者の音源はレコードやデジタル音源で入手できるけど 映像としてこれが無料で見れるとかとても幸せです。

Far away from “the” hardest, it’s still one where most performers aren’t to my liking, this interpretation is among my favorites.

Speechless, perfection on fleek
I've now watched a bunch of videos of people playing this piece. Every one I've seen, the pianist applies such pressure to the keys, that it sounds almost shrill to the ear. I don't know if it's the brand of piano, the way it's tuned, or a combination of those factors and more. If there ever was a visual depiction of someone "Tickling the ivories", it's this pianist. He literally makes the piano sing, no matter the piece he plays.
He sees the world better than I do.

@DH 2.0 what i mean is, what he did was pretty much playing it blindfolded, as in you cant see your hands, i know he was born blind
Guys he learnt this blind
Tsuji already played the do re mi on the piano when he was 2. When he was a kid he almost perfectly memorized and played chopin’s piece by only listening to it once.
Even worse.. learned it blindfolded and never "saw" a piano in his life... Absolute monster.
