UPDATE: jubilee CEO contacted Aba N Preach, and they resolved the strikes - th-cam.com/video/XYNCtXDZkqM/w-d-xo.html
TLDR - they striked them because,
- they felt like some ppl were stealing their content by reacting to it (but it was obviously fair use)
- they need money to produce videos and they were having trouble funding stuff? so they thought its cause of the reactions taking away money/views from them... makes very little sense
- basically, they messed up, and now they resolved it
reaction videos using the hole original video is not fair use, if they cut out most of the original video and only keep bare minimum of scenes needed for what they wanna talk about, it is but from what i can see of their videos they do not this keeping 100% of the original video in there, jubilee is 100% in their legel right to take down those videos, Also it sound jubilee is not doing copyright take downs (AKA just giving them a strike right away) but rather are sending them takedown notices so that they can remove the offending videos before they get a strike, you do not have to do this and it shows a good faith effort by jubilee to try and handle this nicely.
Ok so you wright a book, you spend a years worth of work and money (living expenses and so on) doing this and release it to the public, i copy your entire book but add my nores about it in my copy, making a full copy, with extra notes from me Mr important person. Do you see the sense now in how its stealing their veiws and thereby money.
@@valdemartomlinson From what I know about fair use. Its okay to use 100% of the video if you make commentaries to it. Adding values to it. Its been done for years now. And nope what they do is fair use. If its not then a lot of reaction content creators will get shutdown years ago. An exception to it is reacting to things that got payed like films, anime, concerts, etc. Showing the contents on steeam or videos warrant copyright strike unless its like 5 seconds of clips

Reactors get shut down all the time but here is the cleaver trick they use for you to not notice it... They upload 15 videos a day (not litteraly)
And no its not ok to use 100% of the work, any an all copyright suit that would go to court where they used 100% (Vines and other super short content would maybe be allowed as it has never see a court of law as far as i know) of the OG work unaltered (Altered being a parody song as an example) they would lose, it will properly never go to court it cost alot of money, which is why reaction content thrives so much even though its fully not legally protected, it not fair use its theft.
While my tone might have been a little hostile here it is not at you but rather the lies reactors have feed you and so many others over the years to protect themselves from their horrible practices of stealing other peoples hard work to enrich themselves
Also little note i forgot to fully explain, if you copyright strike someone and they then dispute it you need to take them to court before it can be fully resolved, So reactor upload your video, you strike them, they dispute it, you now gotta eaither.
Take them to court spending hundreds of thousands in legal fees.
Or just let them steal your video losing like 5 bucks a month in lost revenure.
Or id claim their video taking all the money or some of the money for yourself. (This one is only really done by big companies as getting your stuff into the content id is not easy for a normal person(from what i hear))
@valdemartomlinson i mever knew reaction content go that far. But I do know that some content creators will edited it out the video too. Like uncensored version in Patreon or stuff. I guess context must be known too. Like for example I think Aba had a problem since the company consent for video used as a reaction
The fact that Jubilee's CEO went from saying "we like people reacting to our channel and being monetized" to copyright striking is telling. Even if this gets resolved, no one is going to react to their videos and they will fall to irrelevance.

yeah think the last time I actually saw a jubilee video it was back in high school and the last I heard of em it was in relation to that D1 dropout who basically stole all their shit even footage via memory cards that they jacked can't even remember the dude's name what I do recall is that the main dude was being beaten like a red headed step-child of a rented mule while his "homies" were stealing shit like and the funniest part the dude doing the beating was just a normal as cameraman not about that gang shit whatsoever and he had to be pistol whipped twice before letting go of his chew toy but otherwise the channels a nothing no name channel as in you don't even bother learning their names cause you barely even watched like 5 minutes of their videos like pretty certain buzzfeed has a bigger following and that's just sad cause tbh I think jubilee has been around longer

I can guarantee you some conservatives out there have copyright struck people unfairly because they couldn't take criticism. The fact is, it doesn't MATTER if new Jubilee manangement or whatever doesn't LIKE people reacting. If it falls under FAIR USE, then it's legal and allowed. End of discussion. This company may not like what someone has to say, but they shouldn't be able to strike it or even demonetize it, as it does fall under fair use parameters. So basically they need to suck it up, or stop making public content altogether. I know some people don't like react/commentary channels, but what is allowed is allowed and it doesn't matter how anyone 'feels' about it.

@@cebolenkosingcobo5122 TH-cam has a LOT of problems, but what keeps people around is the fact that you will earn a lot more money on TH-cam than anywhere else along with the most exposure bc TH-cam works with Google and many search engines copy from Google. So searching things will push TH-cam over anything else.
TH-cam has an ad problem, searching problem, demonetization problem, political bias, creator bias, ToS and rules problem as they change them all the time and then selectively target creators based on videos they've made years ago.
The problem with Rumble is it cant compete with the amount of money TH-cam can give to its creators, and it cant compete with the amount of exposure TH-cam gives, and it has a trafficking problem where the site will have issues when a bunch of people are watching a live show at once.
The CEO is a smart dude. He knows that reactions only bring in more views.

I tried to contact them via email but they posted in their youtube posts (as a way of exposing my details).
There was just no way I would expose my full details and address, just for a chance of getting that strike down.

A huge chunk of Jubilee's growth is from reaction content. The number of comments on their new video concerning the issue is boggling
It's because the people they hire for the videos are so insufferable, we can only take them in reaction format and they can't cope with that
exactly!!! i usually like to watch original videos but with jubilee its so intentionally geared towards a certain narrative and being diverse and inclusive that it makes it so freaking frustrating to watch, that the ONLY way i watch it is if i see someone pick it apart like i do. i need the shared opinion, otherwise i feel like going crazy watching the obvious pandering in the videos.
they seriously get some of the most uncommon breeds of people on their videos that are a minority of the population in real life.
there is SO much bias intentionally put in their videos.
I feel like the guy who edits the videos has a bias, and that bias always gets trashed in the comments or in other videos. I don't think anyone is criticizing the editing....
Man first watcher now jubilee, I personally never liked either channel, it just felt like both channels had greed, turns out I was right to think that. Greed really kills good projects, good products, great TH-cam channels, good companies, everything. Greed kills anything that has humble beginnings.

Ok. So the content falls under fair use, and the CEO of Jubilee is on record saying he doesn't mind the content. Further more, Jubliee isn't being harmed by reaction videos, they're being helped. How does Jubilee expect to win in court? It sounds like a long shot.

The only reason I even know of @jubilee, is because of commentator videos. And after watching the commentator go over them, it made me go and search out their content to watch it at the Jubilee channel on my own. But, if I hear that a channel like Jubilee is doing bad copyright strikes over fair use content, then I will be done watching them.

I remember Jubilee before the fame. It was a small channel of about three Christian Asian American Young Men wanting to create content from their perspective and content that impacted the world with a pure message. TH-cam unsubscribed me from my own second channel. Also TH-cam is inturepting or slowing down peoples use of TH-cam if you use a VPN to "punish" or make you turn it off. I contacted TH-cam to see whats was going on and they said " we are looking into this" for 3 weeks

Jubilee needs to realize people reacting to their videos is what gets them recognition, their channel is honestly boring without other people reacting to them
We need a few pro bono lawyers who wanna take these cases to make these companies think twice for using copy strikes as threats.

To be honest I actually unsubbed from Aba and Preach like a year ago BECAUSE of the jubilee stuff cluttering my feed. It doesn't sound like they're gonna be reacting to that crap anymore, so I might go resub when this video is over.
You can lowkey always tell Preach was never into doing those vids in the first place. But I respect Aba for standing tall on business bc he has a point that it sets a bad precedent for the future if they take this lying down.

I agree with Jubilee, I understand the game but I hate it. I hate that people can play your whole video for views and say a few sentences, mostly garbage commentary, and get paid with you receiving any compensation.
