  • Having organised a day up in Derbyshire, I wanted the rush-hour to end before hitting the motorways. The answer - an early morning session on the Tillingbourne at Albury. Although nothing was rising, I started with a small emerger pattern until Cameron mentioned that with such a prolific mayfly hatch over the past few days, a mayfly pattern might be just what they were looking for. Say no more! After two lovely fish, it was time to go, just as the forecast rain arrived. Suffice to say the drive up to Bakewell was horrible, with almost constant rain, three sets of roadworks, and a car crash to further delay and add variety to my journey. Pitching the tent in the rain was fun and I was starting to worry if the rivers would be fishable. Friday arrived promising a settled day with hot sun. Both rivers are amazing but very different, and one day is just not enough. You could spend a week there and not get bored. Maybe, one day,......

Evening Rob, most anglers would just walk past that ‘tiny drain’ looking for somewhere to cast a line, another pleasant video , thanks for sharing

Thanks Chris, it’s a tiny stream but holds some beautiful fish. Was slightly over awed by the Derwent and Wye yesterday but soon got the hang of it.
