Jashan Bhumkar is an accomplished vocalist of the new generation with a captivating stage presence. He received his initial training from Pt. C. A. Agarkar, and then from Gaanyogani Smt. Dhondutai Kulkarani, the last representative of the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana in its purest form. He then trained under Gaansaraswati Smt. Kishori Amonkar. He is now learning from Smt. Maya Upadhye and seeking guidance of Pt. Raghunandan Panshikar, both senior disciples of Kishori Tai. He has performed at prestigious venues in India and abroad. While being appreciated for his purist approach in classical music, Jashan is equally known for his heartwarming renditions of ghazals, bhajans, abhangs and other forms of music having a classical touch. His commercial songs in both Hindi and Marathi were released either independently or through top record labels, with each release garnering over a million views across various audio and video streaming platforms. Jashan holds bachelors and masters degrees in Chemical Engineering from University of California Berkeley, and Cambridge University respectively.
