It can be bananas, if that’s the perspective… The price of everything is going up. Or, will you accept that It’s something we can’t change individually and realize that we need to buy when we need to buy or sell when we need to sell. I’m a little confused by your comment… Where did you end up?
This video really helped me understand my town!! I live in NWA and everything is so expensive (especially when you need more than 2-3 bedrooms or want a yard at all) my husband and I are looking for a home for our family and I’m definitely bringing notes from this video!!
Love to hear this!… Happy that you have found this of value, my friend. If there’s anything, our team can help serve you with just feel free to reach out when it’s convenient for you. Thanks again for watching.
I think that is a wise move. Helps you acclimate to the area and figure out how and where are you planning on doing life… Then buy a house. Feel free to reach out if there’s anyway I can help.
As a southern Californian resident, the cost of living is becoming unaffordable. Not to mention the politics here are beyond stupid. I want to move so bad. Definitely considering Arkansas. The state looks beautiful
I’m sorry to hear all the troubles that you’re having in California. I personally enjoyed going to college there at APU. Should you travel to the northwest Arkansas area, Feel free to give me a shout. I’d love to connect.
We live in Tampa, Florida. A dozen eggs at Publix are $7.92 per dozen and that's down from 6 months ago and 1/2 gallon of organic milk is $5.75. One pound of ground sirloin is $7. Hot dog bun packs of 8 run about $4.50 which is also the cost of your basic loaf of bread. Your sales tax in AR is high but your food prices are really cheap.
Thank you for your input. Yes… Items like eggs have changed quite a bit since I shot this for months ago or so when egg prices were the hot topic. My wife buys the eggs, so I have no idea how much they are now lol. Correct, I believe Florida sales tax is 2% less than Arkansas… And even more over northwest Arkansas, Benton County/Bentonville is even higher closer to 10%
I was living in Clearwater from 2015 till 2022 I miss it but it’s to damn expensive. I’m back in wi and hate the long winters. I wanna find a nice affordable place that has better weather
Very interesting. We stopped in Bentonville on our way back home to Colorado a couple of weeks ago. I was looking at house prices (ones we could afford) and most were beyond us, but quite a few were more in our range but not all were up to snuff. We are thinking about sometime in April/May going back there to look around.
There are certainly pockets of some pricey homes…but there are areas where more affordable homes are as well. Happy to connect and visit in more detail if you like.
Take a look at my “Tour of…” videos that give you a snapshot of each town. For more info on crime, there are many websites that rank crime and give a description of what type of crime. Checkout crimegrade. org for example. Thx for watching
I wouldn't say that. If you're moving to Bentonville, sure. But Rogers Springdale and Fayetteville are very crimey, and Fayetteville is actually rated the most dangerous city in Arkansas for it's size. Tread carefully, friend.
Wow! Great vid, problem is, Bentonville is higher in food, entertainment including hair cuts, movies, etc. Sorry to rain on the parade, but I'm making 5 times more in SoCal than what I would make in Bentonville or NWA and paying less for transportation, food, entertainment. Rental prices currently as of May 13th, 2023 are about the same as Bentonville vs Huntington Beach- something is not right...might as well stay in SoCal for the retirement in my paycheck and enjoy the daily ocean walks to the pier.
No rain on this parade :)…bentonville is the most expensive town to live in NWA…common misconception is that AR is cheap to live…bentonville no…other cities nearby have a much lower cost of living. Sounds like you might be in the right place where you are my friend! I went to college in SoCal. Spent quite a bit of time at Jacks surf shop (have one of those shrink wrapped tshirts somewhere ha!), Huntington pier, BJ’s enjoying a pazookie, or a Jamba Juice. I even learned to surf on the white wash north of the pier. Thx for your input.
Thanks for your input, I suppose quality might be some thing that is open to interpretation per person, but you can’t argue with price… At the timing of this video, there was a lot of attention around eggs… So I wonder if that might’ve puffed the price a bit.
@@LivinginBentonville maybe it did! We are at the Dutch Pantry on our way into Arkansas and it was $26 breakfast not including tax for two! Heartbreaking. Oklahomamans ans Arkansas’s shouldn’t have to suffer that outrageous price. Huge portion restaurant breakfast in HB is no more than $12/person where we make 3x’s in salary. Something needs to change with greed so the locals can feel at home instead of cheated.
That is disheartening… I don’t know if it’s necessarily greed, but more so people desiring to be away from other areas and flocking here, because of all of the amenities, mid western/southern way of life. Regardless, there’s always discussion rumbling about affordable housing and people getting priced out. It’s a real thing for sure.

The VA loan product is a phenomenal tool for those who have upheld our freedoms and liberties that many of us take for granted. Are there questions I can help answer for you as you do research and pursue a potential move?
Truthfully, I don’t know much about Osceola other than it’s on the complete opposite side of the state for me. I would bet to believe it’s much more cost-effective to live there than it is here in Northwest Arkansas. Many of the statistics in information I gleaned to put this video together, are out on websites like US, Census Bureau, local county, information, etc. thanks for reaching out… Was drawing you to Arkansas?
I saw an article about Fayetteville saying they were offer a $10,000 relocation bonus if you were from out of state and choose to live there for 2yrs. Is this still so?
There was an incentive a few years ago and was tied to moving here in a STEM work from home type of situation. It launched in 2020 and had over 60,000 applicants….100 ppl were awarded the incentive and I believe it’s no longer being offered. FindingNWA.com
