Great review gents and again some interesting thoughrs, to which I can rekate to.
This series doesn't have that wow factor to make me rush to watch it or get excited about it. It does have a certain intrigue. However, I am still unsure as to whether my intrigue is to see if any good comes from the series or to see how bad it actually gets.
I'm not a hater, but as an old-school Star Wars fan, I am definitely feeling frustrated by the inconsistency of keeping to Star Wars lore.

As a fellow old school fan I cant argue with that Stu, we've been burned too many times before. I feel that without George Lucas we are never going to get that Star Wars anymore 😢
The fact that this show thus far hasn't garnered over a 6/10 so far from me says it all really.
Hopefully they are saving all the awesomeness for the last 4 episodes.........Much like Jyn Erso I have 'Hope' 🤣
      Thanks as always Stu

Great chat chaps! I did enjoy this episode more than the previous ones but it’s still a little slow with some questionable dialogue. I need a big lightsaber battle please!

Thanks for watching Bud! 👍 We are supposed to be getting a really big light saber battle at some point and that would be very welcome!

Great round up guys. My first thoughts were how short this episode was! But it did end on a good cliffhanger.
I too noticed the cat like alien in the hall of the Jedi temple. Also the 'cannon fodder' Jedi's aren't going to last long in the next episode!
    For me, 6.5 to 7/10

Great review guys! I’m with Adam and scoring this one a 7 out of 10. My main reason is the sets in some of the shots were really poor quality…it took me out of the episode. In the first two episodes I was sure that Qimir was the Sith Lord, and this week they were making it so obvious that now I want to see it be someone else! I really enjoyed how the Jedi are not briefing the Jedi Council on this when we already have two Jedi killed! This sort of Hubris is what destroyed the Jedi, the Empire and eventually the New Republic.
We’ve mentioned it before, but the actor playing Master Sol is a huge fan of Qui-Gon Jinn and it really shows in his portrayal of Master Sol. I wouldn’t say he’s more powerful than any of the other Jedi we’ve seen, but he is definitely more attuned to certain aspects of the Force than the other Jedi, especially Vernestra Rwoh. I’m trying to figure out how Ki Adi Mandi can have that line about the Sith being Extinct and yet being a part of the small council working on this. Since he’s not on the mission to collect Kelnacca, I can only assume at this point that he’s not going to come into contact with the Sith and the reports will be vague or Sol won’t be believed. It will probably be the latter since the Jedi are trying to cover all of this up already!
I too believe next week will be more flashback, but they might delve into why Osha left the Jedi order…they haven’t really gone into that.

I’m the same as Martyn, this was my least favourite so far. Some of the character choices had no set up. Why does osha want to walk away and not see her sister she’s just found out is alive and why did Mae decide to suddenly turn herself in to the Jedi. It all seemed a bit rushed and not in line with what we’ve seen of the characters so far. I thought the last two minutes were superb, it actually felt like Star Wars horror and was creepy. Still a lot of twists to come I’m sure and later episodes will add perspective to earlier episodes.

That last couple of minutes was awesome! A whole episode of just that please 😁. Fingers crossed we get those answers! Appreciate you watching Delvian 🍻

I enjoyed this episode the least so far- the central characters just didn't really do anything to progress the story for me other than introducing the nemesis. Anyone wondering where the budget goes- it evidently goes on unnecessary cgi characters (probably employing 20+ different people to render them)- the old witch in the last episode and Basil in this one. However I did really like the fact that the Jedi (including Ki-Adi) don't want to inform the council as they would involve the Republic, which adds an extra bit of internal conflict in the Jedi order- I don't really have any issue with Ki Adi's lines in the Phantom Menace as he could have just lied, even to get himself on the council- it just adds extra nuance to the holier than thou Jedi and their monopoly on the force. The last couple of minutes were great when the dark Jedi was revealed. Totally had the red shirts thought. The music in this episode was phenomenal- I'd argue it's the best we have had since John Williams. Always watchable, this one just didn't do a lot for me. 5/10.

Those are some really good points about Ki Adi Mundi! I hadn’t thought about that. 🤔
I absolutely agree about the music! I think this is the first time since the feature films that I have felt like I was listening to John Williams esq music. Really good stuff!
      Really appreciate you watching 👍👍🙏

I think the latest episode has made me realize there’s not really a sense of urgency, yes, I know at the end we get the Sith and that he’s our main thread, but so far our threats, sit or not really haven’t felt like they are a danger to the galaxy are really anything 😅. But hey More Dafne keen/Jecki I’ll take anyday 👏👌

After the ending of this one with the proverbial hitting the fan it would be really nice to see a sense of urgency in the next episode. 🤞
It only occurred to me last week that Jekki is the same species as Rystáll Sant from Return of the Jedi 🤯
      Appreciate you watching 👍👍🙏

What I think and I could be wrong is Sol saved Mae and yet let everyone think she died, I believe the huge twist will be Sol is behind the Sith with a bigger master overseeing it all. We see a hand grab Mae which is Sol, in trailers we see the helmet on the floor so he must be taken out, Sol is far too much wanting Mae to be his apprentice.

If you watch it and listen to what he says is very much dark but comes across that badly written but something is off. Did Dol take out the Witches and create Maes anger. I think he's the Sith.

🤔 In all Honesty: If you understand anything about Story & Character Structure, you will find that *The ACOLYTE* is below basic & is indeed pedestrian story-telling. I heard a Parent's quote that said it best:
"(The Acolyte) is too *_Dumb_* for Children -&- too *_BORING_* for Adults." 🎞👎
"The Acolyte will insult your intelligence, no matter how little of it you possess. The problem is the writers and Disney, not the fans."
    1 x ⭐1/2

Oh, it’s far from perfect. I don’t think anyone denies that.
I think as Star Wars fans, we overanalyse these things. We try to tie everything in and don’t just try to enjoy it for what it is. It’s not great, but as we said, we’ll give our judgement on all of it at the end of the series. At the end of the day, it won’t stop us enjoying the original trilogy.
      Thanks for watching. 👍🏻

Basel the Sith Lord... 🤣. Love this theory!! Hahaha. 🦫
As I've stated previously, and just like Martyn, I'm not going to judge the series as a whole until the final episode has completed. I think this was filmed more like a complete story / movie, then broken up into bits. So you might not get individual (standalone) stories in each episode, but bits and pieces of the entire story as we go along.
I do agree that the Sith with the red lightsaber is probably Qimir. Far too many details for it not to be. But if we look at the name of the show, Acolyte, I believe that means that they are a helper / assistant to an apprentice, not necessarily the apprentice themselves. So my guess so far is that The Sith we've seen is not the master but is only the apprentice. And the apprentice is trying to find an apprentice of their own in Mae.
I may be completely wrong but I would love to see that there are actually more layers to this show than our presented right now. And fingers crossed, that's the case by the end of the show, that it all comes together and there were a few things that we didn't necessarily predict or we're just red herrings.
The series is presenting some mysteries, even if it does look a little bit more low production / low budget at times. That said however, I'm still not falling victim to all the discourse that I'm seeing on social media about the show, and am actually looking forward to each episode. Maybe that's the hopefulness in me, thinking that by the end it will have paid off. But either way, my only wish is that Star Wars content is successful. And while this one, regardless of outcome, hasn't been successful in the way I'd hoped (way too much discourse in the community), I can also understand the not all Star Wars is going to be top tier, or up to my high expectations/standards. And just because it's "meh", doesn't mean it deserves to be absolutely hated and despised. That to me is an over reaction for sure.
I do hope however that if there are lessons to be learned by Disney and Lucasfilm, that the feedback isn't just tossed aside as being only from hateful bigoted male trolls - as there are some complaints that should be addressed in both plot and dialogue.
But again, trying to reserve all my judgments till it's over & will continue hoping for the best.
And I am looking forward to the next installment of the show (and your show recap video after 👍).
