There was a car wash in Connecticut that had those exact same AirStream dryers, although they were made out of stainless steel and were blue and red. To make a long story short, a chain bought it and ripped everything out and installed MCWW equipment.
@@greatcitysportaction2289 I live not to far from Bauer’s, so will have to check it out before I move to the Bay Area in June. Harv’s on Arden and Howe used to have an Airstream when it was full service, but was taken out when it became a hand wash operation (now an express).
Very awesome because those air steam triangle dryers are very rare because 1 of my local areas used to have 1 at a gas station ⛽️ but unfortunately it got replaced and it turn into a brand new convenience store 🏪 with beer alcohol wine shoppe!
Oh, by the way, Michigan, I made up the term Generation 1.5 to these dryers because I think this is the generation after the very First and before the Pre-Second Generation. I made that Gen-stuff up, but seems helpful.
@@IllinoisCW right. Also, the reason to be 1.5 is that the Airstream systems older than Second gen is where the diagonal and more twisty old-school flex-piping comes in. The second generation Airstream systems is the ones where the pipe has a nice straight posture. My "manmade term" Pre-Second is where the Sidekicks are still equipped with flex-piping. The actual Second-Gen is the modern Sidekicks installed diagonally or just modern non-flex-piped Sidekick Dryers.
Unfortunately, the AirStream dryers have been removed. The contouring nozzles and first set of SideKick dryers were replaced with a AVW V-Nozzle dryer. The last 2 SideKick dryers still remain however.
Michigan, I have a request (not forced at all, this is your channel, do as you please) for a car wash. There is another so called "Sunshine Auto Wash", featuring a vintage Belanger wave-across, and some AVW equipment. The dryers are very neat!

I’m sure they did, but I’m not too worried as it’s a soft top roof and I don’t think they’d be very rough since they’re designed to flex. I’ve seen them be held up by hangars in other car wash videos.
I've had dryers like these but they ripped them out of the car wash and tore everything inside the car wash to pieces and dismantled it as well there are no more car washes in my city that has that dryer anymore

Wow, those Airstreams are a very rare find. Back in the 1980’s, I saw a few car washes in CA with them, but don’t see any at all anymore.
There are actually a few. One is at Lincoln Car Wash and Detail in Santa Monica. Another one is at Bauer’s Car Wash in Citrus Heights.

It actually might be, I found gen 1 and they don't have the sensors. So it is kinda in the middle.

It says "PerformAir" There was a place in Youngstown, OH that employed those even as late as 2013. Anyways, said car wash got demolished.
