Bravo!
Can hear the emotions in your voice here. Thank you for sharing.
A short post:
I remember Jon Postel in my very
beginnings of my Journey and adventure in what is now called the WWW.
I never met him but he did answer a
question I posed in 1993. At that time being a newbie in anything
called the computer field, as such I was drafted as a electrical
mechanic pulling cables in 1989 for a company, which led me to the
IETF through Novell.
He changed my direction from the
Electrical field by posting back to me on something I sent out into
the void that was to become the internet and since i had no idea what
I was doing with computers his reply changed my path forever, and I
know the post is still out there in the world somewhere.
To all the Geeks who continue their IT
intellectual strenuous love story keep on keeping on or off!
Thank you for your service Jon Postel

I never met Jon, but I will never forget him. I loved networking and had deep respect for those that basically created much of this world that we live in. Best to Jon, Vint and the like.
