I am trying out the Freesoloboulder built in Klättercentret akalla graded 7B!!!! Alex Honnold is the Free solo King of Kings.... small Instagram competition made by Black Diamond
@@ethernet389 it's similar but the distances and starting holds were much much easier here. In free solo they were pretty clear that a miss with the kick meant a fall. Not the case here.
@@troyg3831 I guess because the climbing wall in a gym is flat and can more easily be stepped on but if you do the route optimally in the gym it shouldn't be much different
@@imaxdigital7052 Yeah I get the original comment though about it not being comparable to the danger of falling and not doing the first few pitches. But its comparable to just the one pitch.
@Robert Kearney yeah very unlikely that a kid would have the reach necessary to do the real problem. also, that he was able to use that beta without falling off means the holds are too good. this is the fault of the setters, not the kid, obviously
If you want to try this. you should go on google maps and look for the closest bouldering place near you. Once you find one, yes this is called bouldering.
@@KernClimbing when done right climbs/boulder always look easier than they actually are. Especially for people that are not part of the climbing world. Either way it was well climbed!

For all those debating whether this version of the Freerider Boulder problem holds up, Alex did not set this! The permaset that Alex set as a recreation of the boulder problem on Freerider was at the VauxWall West Climbing Centre located in the United Kingdom. Not sure where the gym is in this video, but this boulder problem was set by the staff and uses vastly different holds than Honnold did in his recreation. Not to say that this particular version of it isn't hard, in fact it looked about V5 (Whereas the Honnold version is ~V7). I am a size 7 and a half in men’s rock climbing shoes (it now fits like an 8 and a half) but for a person who is 6 feet tall and is still growing I feel like that is small feet right?
Det var i Akalla, dock finns den inte kvar då det var en tävling från Black Diamond under premiären av freesolo filmen... den var super hård, var Fredrik Sträng som arrangerade tävlingen på instagram i samarbete med BD
Hi, hard for me to say... it was built as a replica by Black Diamond in several gyms in Nordics, and they had a competition for people to film when they climbed it. but i guess it would be somewhere around the same V grade except the height it was executed on by Alex :)
Good work! Now imagine doing it 2000 feet off the ground and after 20 pitches of 5.12+ climbing. Now you begin to realize how insane Alex's achievement is.
I’m 5’7 built like a fucking shit house but never could climb well because climbers are often tall lanky like 6’3 170 😂 but mad respect to them all it is not ducking easy
This short video would have been really good if it wasn't for the person chomping and smacking their lips. In fact it should be "A THING" that nobody is allowed to suck on sweets or chew gum or basically eat anything whilst recording.

Thx, turning 15 in a week, and this was like 2 years ago 😄
Same bruh
All of you should try bouldering. That's what this is. I do it every week!
@Poke-Saur it's the best! 🤙🤙
Why y’all hating on the kid 🤣 I thought climber culture was all love
Climber culture is all about spraying and elitism. Probably the most toxic community around.
climbing culture is all egos and nothing else. it's toxic
Imagine if Alex had barn doored like that during the free solo.
What does barn doored mean?

That was impressive bro. Probably not one of us in the comment section can even get past the first step.

That wall is nowhere near that grippy
So I'd say there is deffo some give and take

Nice kid
All boulders are free solo tho right

It’s the consequences that make the problem hard
jalidkalid nah mate it’s still v7 this is just not accurate and childafied to make kids feel good about their strength
Really? And u know this because you have climbed it? Its the most technical spot on the route. Its fucking hard, not cause its a,big fall.
The problem being hard makes the consequences, ain’t gotta worry bout the consequence if the problem is easy to solve.

It is a boulder so ofcourse it is a free solo.
It is the boulder problem alex honnold did on El Capitan at a height of 700m ... he did it Free solo
