    Thank you for this video, I actually did make shovel shoulder armor after watching this, grabbed two flat shovels for like 2-3$ each (8.50 onionlions in my curency) and (cold) hammered them so they don't look like shovels anymore, but proper armor. Never would think that some tools are such excellent source of steel. To be fair, I started building my fantasy metallurgist/blacksmith armor under the influence of your videos and it turned out pretty damn fookin great. So I wanted to say that you are great at motivating people to do what they always wanted to do and I am very grateful for what your vids did to me.

    • @CritStatic
      @CritStatic 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** actually a scythe if used properly is a great weapon you can trip your opponent and cut their Achilles tendon all in one motion, you can hook shields and pull them away, you can get to your opponents back from a downward slash if your close enough...etc very useful if you know what your doing

I was in the same spot you are now, I was 20 and thought I could do what ever..whenever. my job was very physical and demanding but I was young so I push myself to do more and be better than my co-works, you know for bragging rights. Now I'm 40 and I can barely stand, I've had knee replacement, back surgery, arthritis in both hands, suffer from chronic migraines and insomnia. Your young bro. Slow it down some, take care of you. New subscriber... I really like the way you make your videos! I love your creed about not giving drawings or plans to promote creativity... I like the way you explain what you did and why you did it that way, and you even sometimes offer alternatives... you are very creative/talented! I'm not really a fan of the rivets, but hand made rivets, like your nail rivets, take much longer so I understand; although, the cutting and flatening of the rivets is a nice idea, not sure what durability is lost though... also, I watched several videos last night and could really see that you've learned a lot very quickly, but one thing I've noticed is that occasionally you'll rivet a strap outside of an armor plate at a hinge point, and this often just seems like an oversight. I realize, due to the thickness of your materials, that this is prop/cosplay armor, but having the straps so exposed leaves you with armor that is easily cut off... just an observation... I hope you find relief from your late nights, I have found no solution to my own... Keep up the good work!

  • @andrewc6981

    If leather replaced the nylon that would increase durability. free idea share.

    • @ZNA_Productions
      @ZNA_Productions  9 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Andrew C Ya know, a lot of people think that. I'd assume it's because leather is more expensive, they assume it's stronger. But you're really just paying for labor and style. Nylon straps however are much more affordable, and MUCH stronger. Even the cheapest straps are usually rated for upwards of 600lbs, a couple more bucks and you're looking at thousands of pounds. Leather is great, but Nylon webbing is superior in terms of cost and strength.

    Great build, I keep thinking it would be cool to layer a bunch of flex seal on the underside. Or all over. But you know, full the impact further

    Okay, I think I may have found one of my new favorite channels on TH-cam... You should try to make a helmet that's like a cross between something straight out of Mad Max combined with Loki's helmet. I think that would look really neat. I admire your work keep it up! Get well soon Uriel!

    You might enjoy using the blue Walmart camp pad as your armor liner for future projects. You get a lot for $8 I believe, it's thicker and it's popular amongst foam fighters (like belegarth) for armor lining
