I discovered this channel late, but I look forward to seeing the new direction. =) Frato claims to have respect for the RP rule, but the only one he followed was not breaking character! It's easy to make this judgment from someone who doesn't really have to put up with people like this, but if someone is being disruptive and shitty and ruining other people's experience, they're *lucky* to get a warning to stop before just being kicked. At the end of the day this is a game and we're all just trying to enjoy ourselves. People like this just mess with that-- he even stated that he just liked pissing people off. Even if Frato was killed off, the player was the problem, not the character.
this may be 6 months ago, but that donald duck voice guy reminded me of a friend from high school, he was freaking tall and skinny, had a voice just like the guy from the story but was one of the few people in school that actually talked to me

To be honest, they should have just kicked him a lot sooner. As someone who RP's and raids, I 100% think he was just a troll. Keep in mind, the story is told from Frato's point of view and he still looks like the asshole in the situation. So to answer your question, because he probably would have just found some new way to disrupt everyone else's RP.

Reminds me of a guild I joined in legion that tried to do a fun run but wiped to lei shen. Repeatedly. I was new to wow & only level 90 myself, so I'm guilty of repeated deaths. But by the time I hit legion content & was farming mop mogs... I realised it wasn't hard, they were just really shit at it lmao.
But also, the crazy RP'er, coulda/shoulda made himself a novelty. Like, hung out around raid entrances, doing his crazy RP. Then, if invited, at least sometimes killed it in the raid and other times just caused havoc.

That being said, I will agree that the other players should have at least tried to hash it out with Frato in or out of character before slowly icing him from guild activities and then kicking him. I also think that Frato knew exactly what he was doing and should have stopped or at least toned it down when other people became visibly bothered by his antics. I suppose neither Frato or the guild really handled the situation well.
Frato's RP was very on point with his character. Most RP players don't seem very creative in how to distract peoples characters who are being disruptive. Could have a hunter with a bird pet get a message about something for Frato telling them to meet them some place sending him away for a while like someone in the guild acting as a distraction every now an then. or knocking him out for a set amount of time an telling him that a bird drop something on his head an making a someone to say he is going to be out for a good 30mins or something. RPing doesn't seem like RPing tbh now a days oh well good story tho.
The problem with Frato's character is that it constantly forced everyone to notice him. It required their attention. He didn't care about building stories with people; he wanted other people to have to deal with his story. It's selfish, even if it is authentic to the character. Expect people to shun that character if you make one like that.
I've seen this discussed in D&D forums before - RPing a jerk just gets your Player a choice - RP as someone who isn't a problem, or have that character die/leave and roll a new character who is prepared to not be a problem. That's it. Using, "But that's what my character would do!" is not an excuse, ever.
Thats why wow RPers suck at roleplaying, they just want to play GoT-housing story telling without the dragons and without being interrupted as they read their goodnight-story book... They dont try RP back with Freto - they could try cure him, they could try tie him up and disarm him, they could even try "put him out of his misery". Perhaps he goes to jail? Or a mental hospital? There is SO MUCH response and actual RP that could happen here.... But nah.
