      There are aesthetic standards

      @stuntmanted6855 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@trollingisasport standards is a synonym for rules. lol. its subjective to the type of music your making. lil peeps producers didn't seem to care about aesthetic standards when combining trap and underoath samples. now its "normal"

    • @stuntmanted6855
      @stuntmanted6855 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Alison Wunderbar not sure what that has to do with this video considering his "rules" were more opinions but yeah, sure.

    • @trollingisasport
      @trollingisasport 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stuntmanted6855 Synonym means similar in meaning not the same, nor does it account for nuance. Standards as I am using it implies normalized conduct and doesn't necessitate officiality, whereas the word "rules" implies FIXED standards and practices which hold consequence should they violated. Natural standards that are violated are simply unconventional.

    watched a bunch of your videos like this but this is the first time im watching to catch a few bits of beat making knowledge. i decided i want to release a song on a beat that i made from scratch. not gonna stop working with different beat makers but recenetly i've had a newfound appreciation for artists who produce their own stuff. i want to know that i have songs in my catalogue like that too.
    btw, producing and beatmaking are 2 different arts, at least imo. not saying either one is better or worse, just want to clarify since its relevant to my main comment :)

    All tips were alright.... but that last one is the one that I recently discovered while making beats and it the best one you mentioned. I used to watch your videos and you would change the melody a bit after you already had it sounding good and it would confuse me, but as I watched you progress in the beat the changes made sense. I don’t know if what I’m saying makes sense however but I’m just reiterating the importance of spending some more time on the melodies and getting it where it needs to be. Also the “8 bar don’t do” is a good tip as well I used to make melodies like that and it was awful haha. Great vid though Kyle!

  • @kem1323
    @kem1323 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Tip 4 is a real.. muddy melodies always come thru and it always takes ma awhile to realize why....
    Tip 6: is another one i feel too, cause I have an impatience problem with my melodies, especially when it aint coming out how i imagined
    Thanks again for the fire vids...
    Lookin forward to them on a daily

    Thank you so much for vids like these! I was going into this and be like I bet I make 3 of these mistakes even recently. By the end I was surprise how few of these mistake I've made in while. lol I be like I didn't even know people could do that or wanted to do that in FL and I've been making music on a pretty casual basis for 7 years. I like my melodies 4 to 7 measures and my cords around 5 to 7. I need to get more into the filters, limiters and effects but I'm usual messing around for good time with Fruity EQ a bunch at least. I knew for a long time I was far from people like Kyle but now a friend wants me help him learn how to make music on FL. It certainly makes me curious how much I will learn trying to help him with his struggle with FL.

    Hey guys i have a quick tip I discovered for you and your kicks and drums. All you need is fab filter Saturn. 1. Step on the master cut the low and high ends. 2. Step Load a fab filter Saturn on the master and select on mastering the preset faster master. 3. Step load another fabfilter Saturn and select again under mastering hip hop puncher. Advantages: hard kicking drums and nice bass. Disadvantages: your highs will be kind of oppress.
    Edit: you need to tweak the volume of the instruments AND lower the volume of the kick and bass if you want.

    Needed this tips so bad bc my melodie game is not the best.
    But something you can do, when the halfspeed sounds muddy, but the rhythm sounds dope, is basacally pitch it up an octave when the halfspeed starts (I use it in breaks and not at the whole beat)

    On no 1, there's also some aspect of trying not to use detuned presets after you have a melody, especially if they're only supporting the melody.
    Sometimes I might through a really weird synth in the background to support a melody and at first I don't notice it, but after I've moved on from it, I'll hear some pitches clashing and I won't know where it's coming from.

  • @Mista808
    @Mista808 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    yo Kyle since we have very similar setups, and we both enjoy making videos showing ourselves working on beats etc.
    maybe you can answer this question for me. Is there any way we're able to make beats LIVE streamed without having
    horrible delay with FL studio? I use OBS to broadcast, have a top of the line setup as far as my computer goes, but I'm
    unable to use my external sound card as an audio source whenever I'm streaming so I'm forced to use either ASIO, or
    other audio sources that then cause that delay in FL. Which basically makes it impossible to play live and show people
    the skills due to the delay of when I press a key on my midi keyboard, and the sample or sound actually playing..
    probably over explained my question, but just wanted to make sure you knew what I meant... because of that delay
    I never post videos since I'd rather do most of my work live streamed while working on new beats etc.
