@Shrihith Talapaneni More controversial than nuking Japan. Are you kidding?! Truman is a war criminal for throwing these monstrous weapon onto human beings, so far the only human in the world that has ever did that.
I don't mean to be hyperbolic, but the sequence of Teddy Roosevelt attacking you was far better than any Michael Bay film. It's the best thing I've ever seen on TH-cam. In fact, it's probably the best thing I've ever seen on the internet. Period.

Chet Arthur also signed the first trade deals opening up Korea, Nicaragua and Hawaii (then independent) without invading any of them, established a government in Alaska, adopted Standard Time and appointed the first black ambassador, (to Haiti). Which is more than Hayes did or Garfield would have done. And they were legitimately elected.
How is the hell is John Tyler on this list and not Calvin Coolidge? 🤷♀️ Tyler was literally so shit that his own party refused to even consider him for reelection, was hated by both parties, and then he joined the Confederate Congress.

Where would you put Gerald Ford? Yes, some say that pardoning Richard Nixon over Watergate was a mistake, but he helped to rebuild trust between the executive branch, Congress and the American people
I"m a life long democrat and considered Ford a political joke for most of his public service life. But I've come to believe that he was right to pardon Nixon and put that era behind us. He did it knowing it would be a taint on what ever other legacy he may have had.
@@hitew4774 the thing with Coolidge, yes, he was in many ways an ideal Conservative, keeping as tight a reign on the Federal Budget as he could, the problem was that there were warning signs during his administration that supply wasn't keeping up with demand, one of the factors that lead to the Wall Street Crash of 1929, which affected consumer confidence in the Stock Market. Coolidge is easily number 1 for me because he kept his hands clean during Harding's presidency. Truman's becoming president was hardly a surprise. He was specifically selected for VP because it was heavily suspected FDR didn't have much time left. With Coolidge, who didn't want the job of VP the first place, it was an actual surprise.

Noteworthy to say that Truman's life was a story of failing up the ladder. He was only VP to keep Harry Wallace from becoming the inevitable next POTUS. So when he walked into the job, FDR largely ignored him and kept him in the dark on matters, and when it was time for Truman to call the shots, he was woefully underprepared. Even still, he did a good (not great) job and served honorably and more in the public interest than arguably any president we've had since.
