That midi guitar at the beginning makes me think it's going to be "Waiting for Romero to Play" and then the song changes its mind and goes somewhere else entirely
I still remember this song and the horn solo note-for-note from the '90s. "Goin' Down the Fast Way" and "Fish Polka", too. And lighting people up with the Drunk Missile. Awesome.
I like that it feels very different from other shooters of the time, has a lot of personality, but it's also inherently limited in what it can do thanks to running on a modified Wolfenstein 3D engine so you get a lot of confusing maze levels etc.
Well, i like that version too but well, original versions can't be forgotten, altrough i admit some instruments would not hurt there. Well, felt like sharing that since im searching about the remake. But at least the creators were nice in including the original sounds and mode of the songs if the remixes don't work in personal taste.
this midi file was played on a high-end sampling card (i used to play it on my Sound Blaster AWE-32, but as i remember, the samples weren't quite as good as this one)
DOn't worry. IN the remake that song seems to be on. IN fact, watch the room design level of Rise of the triad 2012....they are using a remixed version of this song.

the fact that lee jackson was able to pump out 28 songs for the game in a 6 week deadline and still make them sound beautiful
I expected this to have a conclusion, but it didnt. But yeah I agree, I think.
You’d think he spent much more time cranking out those songs from how legendary they ended up being.
90s era GRP big band would’ve absolutely slayed this.
blud violated that sc-55. Straight fire
This track really has the feeling of " Yeah I beat you into the ground, what are you going to do about it ?"
When havana smooth plays you know you're in deep shit. Time to whip out the drunken/shotgun missile! Triad Enforcers EVERYWHERE!!!!!

Lee Jackson really did come out swinging with this magnum opus...
I get a mental image of some drug kingpin and his men dodging gunfire behind palm trees on a palatial estate.
@@yellowblanka6058 Dunno bout that. The images aren't entirely recent but Lee looks more like a stoner :-P

Lee Jackson once said (paraphrased) that "seeing Havana Smooth played live" is on his bucket list
I know it from a doom wad, not a bad thing, but I would kill to hear the Stan Kenton version. It's already crazy.

that drunk rocket shot is still cooler than anything else Ive seen including in Destiny.

Funny that many years later, we have two popular and similar songs called "Smooth" and then "Havana"
This song is timeless. It fits with everything.

One of the few tracks that its Doom 2 port doesn't *completely* fuck up. Ya know, unlike OWW!!!
You can blame that to MIDI2MUS.
RIP General John Darian, Sebastian Krist, NME
Yeah nah. They should rott.
Especially the NME.
As the reboot puts it: “Rust in pieces.”
I agree. I'm still conflicted about the merits of the game itself, but goddamn the soundtrack is good! Even now!

Obligatory Civvie.
Intro sounds like Map 27 (Monster condo) theme in Doom 2
and the track by Bobby Prince in that map, as well as Map 18, is a version of Pantera's This Love.
Is this even MIDI? It sounds natural enough to sound like it's from an orchestra.

Seems to be a remix or heavily inspired by Rhapsody in Blue for anyone interested
This music was played before battle with NME.

Should've been used on some more menacing maps of Hell Revealed - MAP10 is a piece of cake compared to Knockout.
Yeah, but Map 11 is where Hell Revealed starts to throw hordes at player, so Map 10 is a bit of breather.
