Presenting my another rare capture of train race...
I was going to Bolpur Shantiniketan by 13053 Kulik Exp which was powered by 11313 Howrah WDM-3D.
After departing Howrah, we have encountered with 12273 New Delhi bound Duronto Exp which also departs at the same time like Kulik Exp...
The mild race continued upto Howrah Loco carshed.....and after that ????

WAP-5 is actually European loco (Based on Lok 2000 locomotive of Switzerland) , with top speed of 220 km/h. But on indian track it's speed reduced to 180 km/h (trial) 160km/h(operational).

One info to added! The European brother of WAP-5 that mean Lok-2000 run on 15 KV, 16.5Hz 1ph supply. But here WAP-5 run on 25 KV 50Hz (Indian standard) supply.

I think Indian railways needs to produce more wap5 instead of wap7 and upgrade them to pull 24 coach train at 160 like wap 7 hs

Same race happens when I used to travel from sdah to bp by 12.20 lgl passenger and races with 12.25 klym lcl. Because lgl passenger often gets slow while passing through its through stations. Lgl passenger was used to haul by wdm2 of bwn shed at that time. I remember the great chugging and honking too. Remarkable days.

Who else noticed the low catenary wires on this route!! Look how Hell Bent is the Panto of wap5! . At one point it looked as if it crossed it's limit to bend further.
Exactly....From Howrah to Liluah its a very low height catenary section....normal height begins after crossing Liluah.

Electric engine has definitely more thurst and power to run faster than a WAP locomotive. Wap locos are production of previous era.

Now, WAP5 is >6000 HP, as powerful as WAG9/WAP7.
@@daredevil30000 no only a few units are upgraded to 6000 HP. The stock version is 5450 HP powerful. This class therefore replaces the old WAP 4 class on most trains except a few trains where there is either a P4 or a P7 available to take it.

Barsoi - Radhikapur section is still unelectrified...for this reason this train runs end to end with a diesel loco.
It was slowed down to do BFT not because of signal
What is BFT ?
I guess the train we saw could be Poorva express.... As much I remember Duronto has no non-ac coaches...

Its Duronto indeed. The Hybrid Duronto coaches are now replaced by modern Raj livery LHB coaches

But in durontos i don't think they have sleeper Or general coaches. They are like 2nd rajdhani of india which has hybrid lhb coaches
Rajdhanis trains can't be compared with Duronto trains..Becoz these Rajdhani trains are our heritage....Rajdhani will always be Rajdhani.....Apart from HWH - NDLS Duronto many Duronto trains also have sleeper and general too.....like HWH-YPR, SDAH-PURI, SHM-PNBE, etc.
