My alternator works as you showed when I jump it with a wire, but I just got a bran new regulator and it will not charge, so what else could the problem be? No wires getting warm, I also have grounds going to the regulator and alt direct from the battery, so I know I don’t have a bad ground either.
Had that same issue with a 69 Mustang where the alternator will charge if you jump the fields. Changed out 4 regulators that were new but dead right out of the box. New dont mean its any good when they are chinese made.
I sure appreciate you making this video. Alternator wasn't charging, I been all through my car. Never knew what this box was till now
Thanks this helped me a lot. My 83 F150 not charging after replacing alt.

How come you working on a GM
Cause it includes Ford Im having a over charge issue right now and it's the same regulator
Doesn’t a gm alternator have an internal regulator?
The DN series GM alternators have an external voltage regulator. The SI series GM alternators have internal voltage regulators.
your title says FORD truck
