Hello Nate! I've been to this mall a ton of times so I know almost everything that has been in it before. The big store by University Hospitals was in fact an Anchor store and was Steve & Barry's before they went bankrupt in 2009. They were actually only open for a about a year. The current University Hospitals was Sear's and the store next to it was in fact a pet store. The bigger store next to the Entertainment Zone and across from Big Dog Bounce was Payless ShoeSource. Where the Entertainment Zone is currently used to be Dillard's. There also used to be another smaller Dillard's across from the JCPenny where the re-store is now. In the center where the empty stores are next to the big skylight were jewelry stores. In the food court, the unnamed restaurant near the fountain and arcade was Ruby Tuesday's and Grind Towne used to be Wendy's. Also, the Curiosity Shoppe used to be Old Navy. Those were most of the former notable stores that used to be in the mall, but many other popular store names used to exist.
That is a really cool mall. I didn't know Radio shack was still open anywhere. I wish this mall was near me. I'd go there for sure. I loved the video and thanks you. You, Richard and Kara are awesome.
Man I miss finish line and champs. Before Steve and Barry's there was a pharmacy there. Pet store across from it. Walden books, Spencer's. I remember the big toy store where Dunhams is now... Damn that mall use to boom
Strange there is an Habitat ReStore in an mall. Those are one of my favorite type of thrift stores and like checking for older new old stock lighting and electrical at those.
It said Radio Shack is back. I heard someone bought the rights to the company and planned to bring it back more of an online store like circuit city is doing. Seeing a physical store is actually pretty cool.
I've been to this mall plenty of times as a kid, and it was once a really nice place back then. It's too bad that nobody really goes there anymore, but I still like to go there to see movies. As for the arcade, it was once known as Aladdin's Castle, and it did once have lots of fun arcade games as well as a desk with prizes you can win with tickets. Hell, there was a time where you could win prizes with tickets again at that arcade back in 2017, but that went away again sadly.
That restaurant in the food court by the entrance is el puente but before that it was a ruby Tuesday it closed a long time ago I miss that restaurant a lot
That Mall isnt as dead as it used to be. Yea its not as busy as it was 10 years ago but its gained more traction sense the last 2 years. Some new food places opened up. Its mostly mom and pop shops. Radio Shack has some cool old stuff. They do open a holloween store during holloween. I thought they kept old stuff in the Kmart area but i was wrong its in another area. The one shop has old cool stuff in it like old movie posters i found clerks in there planning on getting it for my room. They used to bring in the bounce place in the wide open area. Im planning on doing a video there interviewing the people who have been there for a long time. Most of the shops that have sines next to them like Buy Sell and Trade are just branding the store but I do think the radio shack might of moved. I kinda wish I was born earlier so I could see more of this stuff before it all shut down. Im happy to see it has some more buisness when it used to. They use the old closed shops for storage from what I remember. The Shoe Dept is were I used to get my vans from when I was little. Maybe you should do an interview of people who remember the mall because thats what im thinking about doing. Well talk later ive been writeing this comment and watching the video.
Not an old mall like Midway in Elyria but one that should've never been built for such a small economically deficient area. While your up there hope you guys went to"The Spillway"south of there to film ducks🦆walking on all those fish vying for dollar store bread people are always tossing in spillway always an interesting spot.👀

RadioShack is alive under new ownership for the last number of years. They are franchising all locations now with no corporately owned stores. It’s still a shadow of its former self.
This mall is about 15 mins away from me. I go here time to time, it’s completely dead pretty much. I don’t even think Jo Ann Fabrics is open anymore. All of the food courts shut down as well. They charge their tenants way too high. I would go into KMart when they used to have it there. It was nice. Just a shame that it’s so dead. In the end part where shoe dept is, if you go down all the way to the other end of the mall they used to have pet adoption center I would go to all the time when I was little. But it hasn’t been there about the past 10 or so years
Hi I think that Dunhams sports had to possibly be Ames department store or Hills at one point in its lifetime. That’s probably where the car came from as to why they have in Ames cart in that mall. They may have kept all those years in the back corners of them all and then are preserving in that store front. That is amazing though how you say cards like that I don’t have a single Ames anything in my area anymore the only thing that was left of Ames in my area Syracuse New York is over in Cicero New York at driver’s Village the building that was taken over by driver’s Village still has the original label for Ames department store round oval shape for Ames on the building but it officially says driver‘s Village on it
they call that an arcade? When I was a teen in the 80s, yeah, there were a few stuffed animal games and Skee Ball, but the majority of the machines were VIDEO GAMES, such as Galaga, Pac-Man, Tempest, Donkey Kong, etc. That Speed Racer game would have been cool to play if it were in good condition.
Yes that’s Koi Fish in the pond. That whole pond set up was a gift to the mall from a nearby technical school’s students, A-Tech. I’m pretty sure it was the landscaping/masonry students who built it

@@ThatNateGuyOnTH-cam You're welcome!
Where was the Family Toy Warehouse?
@@xc7049 Unfortunately, I don't remember that one! It could have left before I started going there.
super awesome... i only been in there a few times....
Very cool to see an open Radio Shack!
GNC last thing to close....so true
A red Ames shopping cart and an open Radio Shack; that is awesome. I like that mall, great video Nate.
That is a really cool mall. I didn't know Radio shack was still open anywhere. I wish this mall was near me. I'd go there for sure. I loved the video and thanks you. You, Richard and Kara are awesome.

WallieB26 Has Entered The Chat
the huge store that was abandoned was an old navy.
wooow a Radio Shack that is open??? damn.... thought they all closed!!! that's some very fresh popcorn at the AMC lol
9:22 this was GameStop at one time
I live in Ashtabula and it’s sad when I was younger that mall was full of life and now it’s just a handful of stores it’s sad to see
1:58 - "Super Kmart Deli" on the food list.
11:38 - That is a old Foot Locker with the old style scoreboard right above the registers.
Strange there is an Habitat ReStore in an mall. Those are one of my favorite type of thrift stores and like checking for older new old stock lighting and electrical at those.
That is a cool old mall
Ever notice that the few remaining opened Radio Shacks are almost always in Dead(ish) Malls?
GNC, Bath and Body Works, and Radio Shack. The dead mall trifecta lives at Ashtabula Town Square, lol.
Nice to see an open Radio Shack
Nate, what a totally awesome and cool mall! Loved it! Love Richard and Kara too!
There used to be a Vintage Radio Shack in my mall that probably closed sometime in 2015. It’s now a clothing store
That is amazing there still a Radio Shack in business still. All ours in Lubbock had closed some time ago, so far this one you have is a survivor.
It said Radio Shack is back. I heard someone bought the rights to the company and planned to bring it back more of an online store like circuit city is doing. Seeing a physical store is actually pretty cool.
If you like dead malls you should come to the Courtland Mall in Burton Michigan Nate. Have a great day i like watching your vids.
The liquidation store is for bying pallets to resell from places like Amazon or Target.
Not restore it's used housewares and electronics store
Hey Nate, when you first go into a mall, take a picture of the map of the mall. It might still have the names of the stores that have closed.
That Ames cart is awesome. Should trade for it
I thought radio shack was gone for good
Wow an open radioshack?
I love that open skylight/ceiling on 6:39, so cool!
I've never seen a real-life Smack The Alien arcade game before. So cool! 😃

That huge space make me think of old school forever 21. But I doubt it
Your dead mall vids are great!
Haha someone got a notification on his phone lol
I like that old version or design style of Bath & Body Works as seen here. Here in Lubbock Bath & Body Works remodeled their store in recent years.
That restaurant in the food court by the entrance is el puente but before that it was a ruby Tuesday it closed a long time ago I miss that restaurant a lot
Wow! An open Radio Shack. Amazing!
That was a super kmart center on a hall located where ?
We have the same sort of thing in our mall, University Medical Center Clinic which for me too was a first to see in a mall.
Wow. This is one I've never been to road trip for me. Omg that moment about the Ames cart was hilarious I busted out laughing.
I'd love to make videos with all of you guys! I live in Brunswick Ohio, I'd love to film dead malls and other abandoned retail.
That makes sense the counter would be under the neon signs in the arcade. I'll bet your right about that.
That huge space used to be old Navy
Should the first KMART be a museum
Parker Brakeston some one should buy the abandoned KMART a turn it into a museum
MIAMI-DADE TRANSIT 9918 corporate would hate it
MIAMI-DADE TRANSIT 9918 Not a bad idea. I would like to see that.

I love this mall
Looks like the arcade has about 90% redemption (crane) games.
Where's the Vitamin World or the Spencer Gifts?
New subscriber and dead mall lover!
Do a video on the Sugarloaf Miils mall in Duluth, GA. The mall is so huge check it in google maps.
Funny how is is that there playing 80s music in the background 😂
I hope someday you come to Hickory Point Mall in Forsyth Illinois. If you do, I will watch your video.

i thought RadioShack went out of business?
I know right!
The remaining Radio Shack Stores that are open are Franchised. They were allowed to continue doing Business even after the Bankruptcy.
Why are some Ames carts red and some teal?
Great video Nate! What will we all do if Amazon was to go under?

The GNC store, that you film, I think looks like an old Spencer’s.
I wonder how much that sealed vhs copy of Jurassic Park goes for on eBay?
Love the old school arcades. I Really don't like the new style where everything is just luck based games that cost $1 and last 10 seconds

Yes. There’s no other big stores in there such as JC Penny

I really love the music slash, movies store. There extinct at the malls
I expected a radio shack sign but its actually open! Rent must be so low here.
