very interesting i looked up the places on Google Maps to see the before and after and its crazy how different it is now. Cotton going from a popular spot with businesses and life to now the most notorious street in reading.

Great video. I enjoyed it very much, I can remember coming into Reading from Kutztown back in the 70's.

Hi, Tom, jak sie masz? Nice job as usual. I just stumbled upon this little gem and have subbed so that I don't miss any more. I really enjoy your monthly program on BCTV. My father and his family grew up in the 1200-block of Spruce Street just above St. Mary's, and I remember that neighborhood well from when I was a little kid. Do you have any shots from back in the day of the former Atlantic gas/service station (now a laundromat) located at the SE corner of 13th & Cotton Sts.? My grandfather operated that station back in the 1960's when I was just a little tyke. Also, a picture or two of Konopelski's Meat Market on Cotton St., inside of the Polish Falcons club on Bingamin St., and Andy Janiszewski's tavern/hotel formerly located at 2nd & Spruce Sts. in Reading would be nice to feature in a future show. I attended high school with Konopelski's kids and Stanley Wojo's kids back in the 1970's. Keep up the great work! 😄👍
