السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركات May Allah reward you for these lesson, i have a question if you don't mind answering it please. would it be more practical if one memoris safwatul zubud and study this instead of memorising both or would that impede a beginner's learning
wa Aliekom Salam waRahmatullahi waBarakatuh Choose one to memorize and there’s no problem with studying both if you plan on memorizing zubd. But if you’re not gonna memorize zubd then there’s no need to study that go to another book such as umdat salik or iqnaa.
Assalamuualikum Brother. I commented this previously believe, maybe it did not get through. However I was wondering of you could tell me what the reputation of the hadith department is and if you have access to their curriculum.. could you send it to me. Jazakallah khair.
وعَلَيْكُمُ السَّلامُ ورَحْمةُ اللهِ وبَرَكاتُه وإيّاكم I’m sorry, but since I’m not a Hadith science major, I’m not exactly sure what they study in that field. I did talk to a brother who majored in it, and I don’t think they completed a single classical text. It seemed like they were covering pieces here and there, which, while beneficial, wasn’t comprehensive. This is why I didn’t focus on that science, because I didn’t feel like it would give me a full understanding of the discipline. This issue applies to most sciences, but in Hadith studies particularly, they don’t even complete Muqaddimat Ibn al-Ṣalāḥ (مقدّمة ابن الصلاح) in its entirety. They only cover portions of it. I’m fairly certain they study some of the books of Hadith, but nothing is complete or exhaustive. Of course, they probably have Arabic, Aqidah (عقيدة) classes, and other complementary subjects alongside it. However, I can’t speak from direct experience-this is just what I heard from another brother who mentioned it to me. I hope this helps.
