I'm so impressed by the patience and decency of this presenter. His tactics are influencing other ex-JW activists to follow the path of compassion in their activism as we are beginning to see the stirrings of unease within the Kingdom Hall. There is no scorn or rancor for those who are still in bondage, but so much empathy. The mass exodus will come with this steady, sustained pressure on the leadership while deconstructing the false teachings and debunking the claims. Activists of other faiths could learn a lot from you, Mr. Evans. Good strategy.
Theres not likely to be a mass exodus. They really get their hooks in you. Ive been out nearly 10 years now and still worry if ive made a mistake. I think about it everyday in fact and need to watch videos like these to constantly reinforcein my mind and heart that I'm safe and wont perish for all eternity. Its very difficult and stressful. They teach that if a person dies in a disfellowshipped state that there wont be a resurrection for them or that if Armageddon comes in their lifetime that Jehovah will kill them and being that it was Armageddon that they would have no resurrection. Either way I'm eternally damned. Personally, I dont see how a loving God would do that would do that to me. I tried to get reinstated. I tried for nearly 2 years and they kept telling me to come back and try again. I gave up. I couldnt take the emotional abuse anymore. After I was first df'ed, they told me to check in with them and write my letter to them in three months for consideration. So every 3 months for almost 2 years I did this and they still denied me. I worked for over 25 years for a company that is a major player in its field with factories and sales companies worldwide. We had online meetings with colleagues from various parts of the world every week. No big deal. Managed by highly professional persons, the company quickly took steps to have persons work from home etc. The 2020 turnover and profits were alltime best. Must be Jehovah’s hand.
One of my daughters works for a German owned company, and they fairly seamlessly switched over to work from home, Zoom-type meetings BEFORE the GB announced their plan! It has been successful enough she has gotten a promotion and raise in that time; all done via Zoom-type meetings. So, not sure how the Society sees their success as "divinely inspired".
Jehovah hands is helping my company too! When the pandemic hit in an orderly manner management quickly provided employees with PC and remote connection to work from home!- Jehovah really helped management to think quickly to avoid business disruption. We got MS teams and zoom for work Collaboration! The company continued hiring people and covering available positions - while other companies have employee exiting (resigning) and seeking for employees! We received bonus for 2020 gains! Wow! Jehovah is in my company favor! I’m staying inside this company- Jehovah loving care and direction so we are not unemployed and was with family in the lockdown! Jehovah is really blessing my company!

When I was studying with a sister many moons ago, she said to me "well, you know, you've come this far into learning the truth, if you were to leave now, after knowing it, you risk dying come armageddon, cause you're rejecting Jehovah and his organisation." it would make sense also, not to have children, in the light of this crazy theology! think about: option 1: you indoctrinate them, let them be baptized as a teenager, and then you live in the fear of them leaving your truth, because in this case you ll have to shun them and believe that they will be killed by god as goats or, if they die before Armaggedon, you ll never see them again because they went directly to eternal destruction. Option 2: preserve them, live with the fear that they will be killed as goats, but, at least, if they die before A , you ll teach them after their resurrection so you all will be written in the book of life

I always hate the way they refer to CTR or old literature and yet CTR would be disfellowshiped if held by today's Watchtower standards and how Watchtower will not allow access to pre 1950's literature that they like to refer back to and make selected quotes from. they like to select parts to create a curated positive history of Watchtower while omitting all the crazy stuff.

In the Feb 2017 watchtower, In the section titled "Who is leading god's people today" it states that the faithful slave was appointed 3 years after Russells death. But in the same article it says that he was used by Jehovah and the head of the congregation (Jesus) at a pivotal time. So does direction only come from the slave or not? These humans are clueless.

my parents were caught by Rutherford’s books and teachings, and i remember in the early 70s being in charge of the library in our KH, I had all these ancient books, but I didn’t read them!!! no time, being fully involved as a regular pioneer:( I d like to know if any other ex jw woke up by reading the ancient literature

A few days ago, I told her that armageddon was predicted many times and we're still here. I asked her how is it that they got it wrong if they (Gov body), have direct communication with Jehovah? She got soooo mad at me (oooopppps!), and told me that she would stop talking to me, if I offended her God, her religion and her believes ever again. I appologized for offending her, but I said that my opinion about the Gov boddy and their non sense teachings will remain the same. I said I had so many questions and she offered to answer all of my doubts. So, I challenged her and asked her to answer a big question I have, if she was willing to see evidence of their (Gov body), falsehood and hypocrisy. She declined....hahahhaaa. She forgave me, and I promised to never try to open her eyes again because it was more likely that I'd reach the sun, before waking her up. Same goes for my mother, they are both lost cases. Hi, Lloyd. Your channel is my first in-depth exposure to the JW cult. I'm just turning 60 this month and was raised Anglican and then joined the Eastern Orthodox Church, went to seminary, and was quite active and devout since I was little. Now I am a non believer. I think what attracts me to your videos are two things: 1) it's just so amazing how utterly patronizing, condescending, and manipulative the JW leadership can be. My dad was atheist and very worried I'd get into a cult. I think I understand FAR better now why that was such a worry for him. 2) While my experience in the Orthodox Church was 90% positive and I was able to walk away easily and still have Orthodox friends (including a priest with whom I get together every couple of months), I have seen cultish Orthodox communities and your videos make me think about how practices that I experienced as being innocuous, or even genuinely therapeutic in conjunction with professional help, could be used to control people. After seeing your videos, I have to wonder how my experience compares with the experience of Orthodox /Catholic (they were 1 church in the first millennium) Christians over the centuries.

Just to keep the record straight, on April 6th, 2021 vaccines were available for everyone 30+ in New York state. Once again they are making it sound like they were doing something special to get their people vaccinated when it had nothing to do with them. If they got some for younger people then they were taking them from 30+ in the general community instead of waiting their turn. Older people were eligible before April 6th.

Didn’t note the date of the publication but someone scanned it to an ex-JW support forum and it seems Watchtower is now tossing out little snippets of hints about 2034 because it was 120 years Noah preached about the end and 120 years from 1914 is 2034. They did this same thing in the mid 1960’s when they first mentioned the date of 1975. And we all know what that led to.. one of their worst episodes of arrogant gaslighting.

Our local school district also had a really good Covid response. Schools shut down on March 13, 2020, and they immediately put on a remote instruction programme for students for the remainder of the school year. Then they conducted the entire new school year 2020/21 remotely via Zoom. They were perfectly capable of setting up this system and following public health guidelines without any helping hand from any deity whatsoever.

I'm so impressed by the patience and decency of this presenter. His tactics are influencing other ex-JW activists to follow the path of compassion in their activism as we are beginning to see the stirrings of unease within the Kingdom Hall. There is no scorn or rancor for those who are still in bondage, but so much empathy. The mass exodus will come with this steady, sustained pressure on the leadership while deconstructing the false teachings and debunking the claims.

Theres not likely to be a mass exodus. They really get their hooks in you. Ive been out nearly 10 years now and still worry if ive made a mistake. I think about it everyday in fact and need to watch videos like these to constantly reinforcein my mind and heart that I'm safe and wont perish for all eternity. Its very difficult and stressful. I still havent figured out how to let it go completely. I almost want to say that it torments me. Its that bad.

They teach that if a person dies in a disfellowshipped state that there wont be a resurrection for them or that if Armageddon comes in their lifetime that Jehovah will kill them and being that it was Armageddon that they would have no resurrection. Either way I'm eternally damned. Personally, I dont see how a loving God would do that would do that to me. I tried to get reinstated. I tried for nearly 2 years and they kept telling me to come back and try again. I gave up. I couldnt take the emotional abuse anymore. After I was first df'ed, they told me to check in with them and write my letter to them in three months for consideration. So every 3 months for almost 2 years I did this and they still denied me. I just dont get it. Its just as well I guess. I wouldnt not go back now. I cant see how it is really the truth. Not after everything ive heard now.

I worked for over 25 years for a company that is a major player in its field with factories and sales companies worldwide. We had online meetings with colleagues from various parts of the world every week. No big deal. Managed by highly professional persons, the company quickly took steps to have persons work from home etc. The 2020 turnover and profits were alltime best. Must be Jehovah’s hand.

One of my daughters works for a German owned company, and they fairly seamlessly switched over to work from home, Zoom-type meetings BEFORE the GB announced their plan! It has been successful enough she has gotten a promotion and raise in that time; all done via Zoom-type meetings. So, not sure how the Society sees their success as "divinely inspired".

it would make sense also, not to have children, in the light of this crazy theology! think about: option 1: you indoctrinate them, let them be baptized as a teenager, and then you live in the fear of them leaving your truth, because in this case you ll have to shun them and believe that they will be killed by god as goats or, if they die before Armaggedon, you ll never see them again because they went directly to eternal destruction. Option 2: preserve them, live with the fear that they will be killed as goats, but, at least, if they die before A , you ll teach them after their resurrection so you all will be written in the book of life

A few days ago, I told her that armageddon was predicted many times and we're still here. I asked her how is it that they got it wrong if they (Gov body), have direct communication with Jehovah? She got soooo mad at me (oooopppps!), and told me that she would stop talking to me, if I offended her God, her religion and her believes ever again. I appologized for offending her, but I said that my opinion about the Gov boddy and their non sense teachings will remain the same. I said I had so many questions and she offered to answer all of my doubts. So, I challenged her and asked her to answer a big question I have, if she was willing to see evidence of their (Gov body), falsehood and hypocrisy. She declined....hahahhaaa. She forgave me, and I promised to never try to open her eyes again because it was more likely that I'd reach the sun, before waking her up. Same goes for my mother, they are both lost cases. I'm grateful to be educated by you, rather than by those charlatans. Amen! 😜

Hi, Lloyd. Your channel is my first in-depth exposure to the JW cult. I'm just turning 60 this month and was raised Anglican and then joined the Eastern Orthodox Church, went to seminary, and was quite active and devout since I was little. Now I am a non believer. I think what attracts me to your videos are two things: 1) it's just so amazing how utterly patronizing, condescending, and manipulative the JW leadership can be. My dad was atheist and very worried I'd get into a cult. I think I understand FAR better now why that was such a worry for him. 2) While my experience in the Orthodox Church was 90% positive and I was able to walk away easily and still have Orthodox friends (including a priest with whom I get together every couple of months), I have seen cultish Orthodox communities and your videos make me think about how practices that I experienced as being innocuous, or even genuinely therapeutic in conjunction with professional help, could be used to control people. After seeing your videos, I have to wonder how my experience compares with the experience of Orthodox /Catholic (they were 1 church in the first millennium) Christians over the centuries.

The Governing Body says Jehovah reveals new light to them when he is ready, when he wants them to have it. So in turn they reveal the new light to the rank and file when THEY are ready which just feeds their power trip and allows them to play God. It's really sick.

Just to keep the record straight, on April 6th, 2021 vaccines were available for everyone 30+ in New York state. Once again they are making it sound like they were doing something special to get their people vaccinated when it had nothing to do with them. If they got some for younger people then they were taking them from 30+ in the general community instead of waiting their turn. Older people were eligible before April 6th.
I saw a recent portuguese documentary about jw’s where they say there’s a new date for this stubborn Armageddon to come, in 2034. Is there really a new date?? Good grief…..

Didn’t note the date of the publication but someone scanned it to an ex-JW support forum and it seems Watchtower is now tossing out little snippets of hints about 2034 because it was 120 years Noah preached about the end and 120 years from 1914 is 2034. They did this same thing in the mid 1960’s when they first mentioned the date of 1975. And we all know what that led to.. one of their worst episodes of arrogant gaslighting.

Final comment: Wow! This really is one of the most insane bits of JW rambling yet. And that last section of the Annual Meeting was devoted to the special pioneers? Who knew. All they did was talk about the direction from the GB. You'd think a couple of experiences might be useful but no - everything good was from the wise counsel of the GB. I suppose this really is the natural outcome of them taking centre stage and the invisible men of the Watchtower now stepping into the lights of Ramapo. I saw someone else talking about the JWs the other day and quoted from the WT - in three consecutive paragraphs the focus was on the GB (and taking direction from) - an incredible change from the past. All hail the GB!

Our local school district also had a really good Covid response. Schools shut down on March 13, 2020, and they immediately put on a remote instruction programme for students for the remainder of the school year. Then they conducted the entire new school year 2020/21 remotely via Zoom. They were perfectly capable of setting up this system and following public health guidelines without any helping hand from any deity whatsoever.
