Watching the cast cry and the clips from the episodes I watched over the years, makes me realize that love has been taken out of soaps, TV, and music. It seems to be missing from the world.
God I miss both soap net and soap talk so much, I loved watching cliffhanger Friday, that was when I watched episodes of soap operas, I wish that soapnet was still on tv.

Ho guardato per la prima volta Guiding Light in italia nel 1982, ma gli episodi erano del 1979. bellissimo show, ma quando qualche anno dopo ,sempre in Italia, è approdato As the word turns, mi è piaciuto talmente tanto che quando avevo degli appuntamenti importanti arrivavo sempre tardi, perché dovevo guardare ATWT, un cast meraviglioso, delle storielines stupende e con un clima familiare. Se da un lato Guiduing Light era bello e purtroppo col tenpo questo show è diventato brutto e un disastro, per contro il mio show preferito As The Word Turns è rimasto sempre in auge. Oggi seguo le puntate in inglese su you tube, ma è sempre bello rivedere Così Gira Il Mondo. La cancellazione di ATWT con la morte del dottor Reid Oliver è stata un colpo al cuore per me e uno shock. Riguardo spesso quegli episodi. Spero che lo show possa di nuovo essere riportato in televisione.
It's a shame ATWT isn't on any more. Now they don't have anyone to honor the passing of actors from the show. Lisa Brown's (Iva Snyder) passing is what made me think of that. It wouldn't be the same for soaps she wasn't on to honor her, but both ATWT & GL aren't on any more and she was on both.
I watched all CBS Soaps with my mom ever since I was a child. I'm 42 now. I was heartbroken when Guiding light and then Aa the World Turns was cancelled. After As the World Turns ended I never watched a soap again. Not even the two that were left, Young and the Restless and Bold and the Beautiful. I didn't even ever watch another episode of those two for the fear they would just cancel them. I loved Guiding Light and As the World Turns best anyway. In fact I named my middle child after Jack and Carley's son, Saige. but my middle child is a girl. I just always loved the name.
I never liked Bold and the Beautiful. I don't get why that one stays on.. I tried watching The Young and the Restless again for a couple of years. It's not worth it. Your not missing a thing. . I don't watch any soaps anymore either. Like you I grew up watching them with my mom. My mom is gone and so are the Soaps.
I only watch General Hospital for Maura now. She's the ONLY reason I watch GH at all. She is AMAZING, and I love her character so much on there. However, it's still not the same as As The World Turns. Carly Tenney Snyder will always be my all-time favorite character, and ATWT my all-time favorite soap. It was because of Carly that I became a huge fan of Maura, and Carly and Jack will always have my heart.
I loved Damien and Lily. When Lily came back to Oakdale married to Damien was the best. Paulo was so sexy, I was like wow look at him and his accent. Martha Byrne got act with all the hot guys.
Lisa Rinna was AWFUL to work with. I worked on this show, and everyone hated her. She was not only pretentious and arrogant, she was rude to everybody. I kept asking WHY do they keep her on this show? It was rumored she practically paid THEM to be on the show. She never amounted to anything before or after this.
I don't, sorry, but there are lots of AMC collectors/sellers online. If you search around I bet someone has it. There's also AMC Facebook groups you could check out. Good luck:)
"Bob", "Kim", and "Nancy" are the only ones on this special that I'm familiar with, but I watched in the 70s , so that's pretty far back and Bob and Kim were NOT a couple! Kim was married to Dan Stewart! I think I stopped watching not long after the Dan character died. Helen Wagner looks great here, by the way.

The fact that Liz Hubbard never won an Emmy for playing Lucinda is a crime against humanity.

I came for the CarJack but Don Hastings and Liz Hubbard had me smiling ear to ear the entire time.
I really miss this show. Much better than the talk shows now days.

They don’t come much more beautiful than Terri Conn. I was in love with her as Katie from the moment she first appeared on screen.
