The OG was so good and the studio was great, with so many affordable little DLCs sprinkled over the years, it’s earned my trust. Preordered it. Steam has a generous refund policy anyway, so I see no downside. To answer some of your questions based off the first game, process is community based. You unlock stuff as you level up individually and buy your weapons and upgrades with points earned by leveling or finding samples (though samples might be a little different this time). I think they’re using the term “tank” loosely, in that you simply have better armor. It doesn’t work like WoW, for example. You join a hosts ship and they pick what front you fight on, with a bunch of different planets representing both different environments, as well as different difficulties. These refresh every now and then.

If the game is like the first one, the Destroyer is just a menas to illustrate and justfy how you unlock new abillities, that in Helldivers are called Stratagems. You upgrade your Destroyer, and unlock a new Stratagem. The Destroyer itself has no influence on the missions. And, of cours, it's a hub for you for before you enter a mission, where you pick your weapons and sets, choose your visuals and the like.

In Helldivers one you have access to all of your unlocks no matter who is hosting but you have a limit on how many strangers you can take with you. Normally four. In the video footage I have seen it looks like you may be able to take more stratagems with or my other theory is you get bonus stratagems from secondary objectives on the map like artillery guns or missile silos.

well, i have a bunch of awesome community member just like yourself to help me out. Also, though its a top down shooter game (which is NOT my thing) But the fact that its quite old now and i dont have enough time to play it (HD2 releases on the 8th) So i dont think thats possible.

These days i've been playing a bunch of Insurgency sandstorm, which im loving! Tha;t game gave me a taste of air strikes! Now, HD2, has hordes! Not like wwz, but still, gear to make your character have something as close as classes like AFE, and air strikes to resemble insurgency! This the game i never thought i wanted xD. Itll be good!

You might see me on the Bug's world on higher difficulty. Same sig as youtube sig. I have been playing since Day one. I can teach a few good loadouts. I'm the one usually heading straight toward the Titan bugs with my REC-6 Detonator bomb/mine. Noobs are afraid and run away but I go straight toward them. Someone has to take them out.

Well, games can have similarities between them. This game's got a different perspective. Having air support and a lot of weapons, armors, different enemy types and all, it sounds very promising.
Peer 2 Peer? Man, I’m not about that life and host migrations etc. From everything shown this looks like a game that is trying to get by on its moment to moment combat because all the orders and objectives look extremely basic and rudimentary. Do we even know if there are multiple boss battles or is that not a major feature? If it is, is there hard set mechanics to taking the bosses out? Maybe I missed that. Another thing is: other than B roll footage I can’t find anyone who has actually played the game and can comment on it like TH-cam influencers or something. It’s too early to say for certain but this is setting a lot of alarms off in my mind.
This video itself has actual gameplay footage at the end. Though it's seems its from the devs themselves. So talkin to the community, all the settings were the same for helldivers 1. It was p2p, but people say good and only good things about that game. So I believe we will be fine. So far it seems there are specific boss eliminating missions/orders. But we'll see. Uh, in the first game the destroyer was mainly just something you were in for dropping down. Yeah it moved you place to place, likely the main change in the new destroyer is just a more interesting interior which is mainly what the new changes are i doubt your actually flying it.

Each player's destroyer will be "in orbit" during the mission, so your upgrades will still apply to you, e.g. shorter airstrike cool downs. No guarantee but that was how progression worked in the first game (you had your own research team providing you upgrades independent of other players in the party) so I expect destroyer upgrades will work the same
@inexorablewarrior Good video, nah you ain't stupid. I'm guessing you may have not have played the original?. Likely what the main point of upgrading the ship is to get better Stratagems. Maybe even things like new bays for testing out weapons and so on, Something that is mainly used for supporting your actions on the ground or even just messing around with friends. The ship upgrade system from memory wasn't a thing in the prior game. Hell likely things like orbital strikes, Droppod's with mechs and stuff might be locked to your ship upgrades and you end up seeing the ship physically interior change due to said upgrades. As for what could be sent in, even if a player didn't have everything unlocked when you joined a lower tier player in the old game everything you had in your game was still available for you (stratagem and weapon wise) likely this hasn't changed.

I mean, the number of people actually playing co-op that way is so small. And now we have the benefit of having a new over the shoulder view and the ability to move away from your teammates. Sharing a screen with random people could be really annoying when someone decides they're the one leading everyone.

Such the already revealed robots aka automatons. Also, i dont think there's any coop shooter out there that gives you Mil-sim like tactical gameplay. You have air support, 4 player focused game, with a lot of precedurally generated map and so much more. I dont think there's any game that has ALL of that in 1.
Well, to answer that, what do we know so far? Well, helldivers 1, was surprisingly a good game. So good that it's being played till date, though it came out in 2015. Now what makes a good game, good? The devs ofcourse. The devs supported HD1 and i think we're in good hands. Yes, 4 players coop. I think it's kinda good. Like u can play upto 16 players in starship troopers, it's fun. But it too chaotic. The game isn't focused at all.
Calm down bud 😆, there is loot. So, there are going to be warbonds, which you have to unlock through gameplay, think of them as battle passes. Now through your missions, you will collect medals and super credits and samples that you have to find during missions, which will allow you to unlock the gear or loot in those warbonds.

You have proceduraly generated maps, thats another thing a lot of games dont have, maybe darktide? You have a lot of objectives and missions to do, which vary from squad based to the whole community. Yes i get it, these thing might have been in other games or so, 1 or the other but all of them together? i dont think so.

Hell likely things like orbital strikes, Droppod's with mechs and stuff might be locked to your ship upgrades and you end up seeing the ship physically interior change due to said upgrades.
As for what could be sent in, even if a player didn't have everything unlocked when you joined a lower tier player in the old game everything you had in your game was still available for you (stratagem and weapon wise) likely this hasn't changed.

Well, the reason it's strictly online is especially for the cheaters. So rest assured on that. Asa for lag, there are tons of p2p game's out there where you won't even feel a thing. But we'll see. I'm going to be live streaming on the 8th and we can see if everything works out.

What do you mean bud? I still think it's still going to be a couch coop. From the looks of it, this looks exactly like helldivers 1, but in 3rd person, with better graphics, new mechanics and upgrades.
I mean, the number of people actually playing co-op that way is so small. And now we have the benefit of having a new over the shoulder view and the ability to move away from your teammates. Sharing a screen with random people could be really annoying when someone decides they're the one leading everyone.

If you have the option for DLSS you shouldn't have problems with performance. It doesn't need to be at ultra settings to play.
Well, since they're promising visuals upto 4k, and given that it's a fast paced 3rd person shooter, it got be optimized. I believe almost every upcoming game has dlss. We shall see. I'll definitely update y'all, infact if you haven't pre-ordered it yet, I'll be streaming it live the moment it comes out.

I mean, yes, it is greatly inspired by starship troopers, but it has it's own lore and story. Also, there arent only bugs. There are several other factions too. Such the already revealed robots aka automatons. Also, i dont think there's any coop shooter out there that gives you Mil-sim like tactical gameplay. You have air support, 4 player focused game, with a lot of precedurally generated map and so much more. I dont think there's any game that has ALL of that in 1.

Well, helldivers 1, was surprisingly a good game. So good that it's being played till date, though it came out in 2015. Now what makes a good game, good? The devs ofcourse. Calm down bud 😆, there is loot. So, there are going to be warbonds, which you have to unlock through gameplay, think of them as battle passes. Now through your missions, you will collect medals and super credits and samples that you have to find during missions, which will allow you to unlock the gear or loot in those warbonds.

You have proceduraly generated maps, thats another thing a lot of games dont have, maybe darktide? You have a lot of objectives and missions to do, which vary from squad based to the whole community. Yes i get it, these thing might have been in other games or so, 1 or the other but all of them together? i dont think so.
