You guys need to do shows together more often. This was one of the funniest and most entertaining episodes to watch yet for both channels.
Best Mobile DJ personalties on TH-cam. This was a fun episode to watch. We all know, to each their own.
My 2 cents: VDJ for Mobile, Serato for Scratch, RB for Management.

VDJ has better stems, it is native to almost every controller on the planet, it is constantly improving and innovating, it has been able to adjust key without the use of things like Mixed In Key, it can be used with VST instruments and audio plugins, and now offers streaming from your own cloud services like Dropbox and Googledrive, it can run more than four decks at once, it can handle the most audio and video formats, and it offers the most customizable mapping of any DJ software on the market. Not to mention it has become just as stable as any of its competitors. In the end, use what you enjoy using and fits your needs. We have reached a point where all the platforms are great and the computers now are light years ahead to be able to run them, unlike how it was a decade ago. For the record, I used to mix video back on VDJ over 10 years ago on a pc that only had 2 GB of ram and a basic dual core processor and VDJ never failed me. Nowadays, the computers are way over qualified to run any of these DJ programs and that’s a beautiful thing.
I have an old computer, and VDJ works fine. VDJ is booting like 1-2 secs, and it's ready. Serato is booting couple of seconds and after that theres a library update which takes next 30 secs.
The way Serato forces you to do the crates was a deal breaker for me. It is so much simplier in VDJ. What ever you folder structure is on your PC/MAC is what it will be in VDJ.
You can do the same thing in serato. Just name your crates the same way and use sub crates.
In VDJ it takes your folders by default there is no import, add a song to a folder it automatically recognizes it. No manual import at all!
@@ericmaillet5000 you can have serato do this as well. lol. it's called autoimport.

Rev % had the split stems before the Vdj . for what i understand. i got my Rev 5 in Nov 23 and it had the split stems than.
I play a lot of Bridgerton style instrumentals during ceremony prelude and actually prefer how serato doesn’t auto mix. If you’ve ever had a live instrumentalist during ceremony there’s a brief pause before a new song. I would like the auto mix feature while I step away for a few minutes to eat.
VDJ can play any music format without analyzing it first. You can stream music at the same time from tidal and beatsource .in serato you have to close the tidal or beatsource streaming . You cannot use at the same time.
I'll stick with rekordbox. Simply because I prefer using the software that's native to my controller vs. Trying to remap everything to work and figuring out in the middle of a gig that the last update changed mapping on something.

Serato library management sucks so bad. Djay has some cool new features, but not sure how useful they are. Additionally they don't support a lot of controllers and DJ equipment.
I love virtual DJ but use Serato because I want my parents to like me.

Some of the VDJ features were pretty good. Some, not so much. But honestly, weve been doing this for years without them.
I would have to say this is one of my favorite episodes out of all those you guys should do more together at the same time this would be hilarious especially because it’s not even scripted
The Vanced GT skin for VDJ needs to be talked about more. It’s a powerhouse skin that provides a clean aesthetic with lots of functionality.
Vanced GT is a very cool skin. It can be similar to any Serato software or Tractor or RecBox
I use both Serato and Virtual DJ. Serato for DVS and Virtual DJ for music videos with a controller. Serato is always the best when it comes to DVS. Virtual DJ is way better for music videos. Serato video has not been updated in a very long time.
Phil Morse is right--the name holds Virtual DJ back more than anything else.
I know a couple of VDJ jocks. It works fine, and for karaoke and video guys, it's probably the best choice. I got into Serato early, so I'm sticking with it. But there doesn't seem to be anything intrinsically wrong with VDJ *as a program.*

@_Stilo do you mean "high" lol I was a dj for 26yrs, last gigs year was 2015. Was one of the first to use Virtual DJ, I still use as a yard/community social interaction, such advancements making this the best software to me!

Sertato skin and also traktor skins are available but from 3rd party providers. Also not recomended. Best feature of VDJ is that runs really light on the CPU .
The ironic comments about bloat is that serato consumes more compute resourcing with less functionality.

And there's one more useful feature in VDJ. For example DDJ-FLX4 have 4 function buttons and you can use shift and you have 8 total (FX1, FX2, Hot cue, keyboard...). In Numark Mixtrack Platinum FX there's only 4 function buttons, and Serato allows you to use only 4 of them. Clear. In VDJ, after pressing shift i still have 8 function buttons. Moreover, I can use shit+pad button, so I have total 16 pad buttons.
FYI on the Rev you can spilt hot cues and stems. Also the Rev 5 has stems on the pads sir. You double press slicer and BOOM stems!! Also has dedicated stems separation so you can use the sampler at the same damn time!!!
Considering trying VDJ again. Haven't used it since I tricked out my Denon MC3000 to work with Rane SL2..

Serato coding is bloated. Program is buggy and is not bulletproof (crashproof). Takes forever to load up and to close because Rosetta. Serato is too lazy to actually recode for ARM natively.

You forgot the most important one! Serato can't automatically read the folders on your harddrive, so you have to manually re-create them every time songs are added or reorganized. Big miss, especially if you use your harddrive with multiple software.

Hands down Virtual DJ is better I also own serato but Virtual dj is better even the choice to hit vocal accapela in stems which you CANT do in serato plus many effects in virtual kicks ass

I love virtual dj library search browser easier to find and locate songs
start up race between two different computers is pointless because each computer is configured differently, and with different SSD and memory sticks that has different performances. Nick needed start up VDJ on his computer and compare it to Serato on the same computer.
Trust me VDj video features are even crazy. You can mix live video and with live updating photos vdj monitors folders live its immense and if you dream of doing karaoke you can program then stuff you can even schedule ligint effects with the first dance basically the options are intense and weve had stems tears before Serato
Use Serato remote to press play. Problem solved.

Midwest here, I play only instrumental music during cocktail hours unless the client requests certain music during that time.
