And this was only chapter one... We’re getting another chapter each day until his new song Troubles drops on the 9th. Renegades who have been down the rabbit hole for a while know the outlines of his story from songs, interviews, and bits he has told in other places, but this is the first time he is going into so many details about his health journey. Mostly because it is a very tough thing to do when struggling with PTSD from the hell he has been through. But here he is. Fighting to share so much of himself. Because he hopes it will help others and raise awareness. This is the Ren we know and love. An amazing multitalented artist busy working on multiple albums and other creative projects, yet he finds time to try to make the world a better place with his honest and heartfelt words. In "LOSING IT" he sings/rap at the end of the song " I'm on a mission".
Maybe it's a part of his plan. You'll never know. I have noticed that some fans wrote they won't watch reactors reacting to this documentary by Ren. Because they know most of it and because they are empathetic and find it hard and hurtful to hear. Personally I think it's important, otherwise he wouldn't talk about it. Even if I don't suffer from any of the decices it's very much important to learn so much about it as possible. Because you never know what's knocking on your front door. This can happen to your mum, neighbours, or your newborn child. Or anybody.

"Freckled Angels" - Joe was a guy with red hair and freckles. But yeah, your interpretation works too! Ren's first album is also called "Freckled Angels".
This is such a deep video for someone new to Ren. His story is truly heartbreaking and inspiring in equal measures. Musical poetry is such a good description for what he does. A recent release is purely an instrumental, yet it's storytelling at it's finest. Ren is both a genius and a gem ❤

The song Troubles is dropping May 9th. This is the first chapter of his story. He is dropping a chapter every day until the song drops on May 9th.
Ren is very brave for putting his story out like this.... we all know bits and pieces of it, but im looking forward to hearing the whole thing from his point of view. Not sure how I'll get even more respect for him after everything I've seen and heard, but I know it will continue to climb. Ren must be protected at all costs.😊💜💜

The special unplanned album that just sort of happened when he was intending to work on one of the others he has planned. Fricking Ren 🤣 Not just surprising us, but himself too I guess 😂
“Freckle Angel”, Suicide” and “ For Joe” are all tributes to his friend Joe. I have grieved with Ren through all these songs last year. These chapters in his life will be intense and I have my tissue ready. Thanks for the reaction.

Joe had freckles, which is why Ren's first album is called Freckled Angels - and the song he sang 8 months after Joe's death is called Freckled Angels. The bit at the end of this Chapter includes the entire video called "For Joe" - it starts with the second half of the video Suicide verbatim, then has a verse related to the song Dominoes - but not actually in the song Dominoes, followed by a verse related to Freckled Angels but not actually in the song Freckled Angels and then finally the Chorus from Freckled Angels. So when you get to any of those videos in the future and you think "have I heard this already?" - no, but you have heard bits related to them. Here. Thanks for the reaction. What a way to be introduced to Ren! Know that he is dearly loved by his fans. He truly has a back story, but hopefully can be treated with the utmost respect. His music is second to none. If you choose to go down the rabbit hole of REN’s multi-genre music, you with most likely be rewarded in many ways.
Ren said in a previous interview, a while ago, that Joe had split up with his girlfriend and was obviously upset, we've all been there. Unfortunately, we can only assume it must have affected Joe pretty badly. We'll never know for sure. RIP Joe Hughes ❤
Yep, I remember that and Joe tried to get some mental help but the clinic told him he needed an appointment first. 😡 To be that person who told him he needed an appointment, how awful.😢

Thanks so much Eddie for reacting to this piece. It’s not an easy watch, and quite emotional. For those of us who care deeply about Ren, not just for his music but also for who he is as a human being. He’s been through so much, but always wants to be a light for others in pain. 💜

Ren is the best in that he talks about these things. None of my friends of family talk about the one's they used to know or their own failed attempts. I bring it up but they just don't have the words so i just leave it.

Sitting here in silence. I always thought I'd be doing people a pleasure if I rid them of me... I am 50 now and figured that if my illness hasn't taken my life so far, maybe for some twisted reason I am meant to be here living my sick life - even if it is by my lonesome self...
This is the first of your videos I've watched, but I'm touched by the empathy in your commentary. I'll be checking out your other Ren reactions and joining you on your journey through his catalog! My personal preference when it comes to Ren- pause as much as you like. His lyrics are dense and multi-layered, and I'm interested in hearing how every nuance in thought and feeling hits the reactor. Many of us who binge these reactions have heard the songs countless times, its what happens during the pauses we're most interested in! With the only caveat being that you're not missing out on the transitions and flow of the song because of it. That's why rewinding it a few seconds after a pause is particularly important with Ren's videos and you'll be yelled at if you don't. 😂 I'm glad you're getting a bit of his backstory before getting too deep into his music. It adds a lot of depth and context to his work.

Ren is an absolutely incredible person. The song at the end, For Joe, takes pieces of his songs Suic!de and Freckled Angels. Thank you for your thoughtful reaction to this. Hearing this today made me realize just how much Joe saved Ren's life and I will be forever thankful to him for that. RIP Joe Hughes 💜💜

Chapter 2 drops in about 45 minutes. I think you should stick with checking these out. It will really help in understanding the context of songs going forward.

A lot of us have had struggles with Chronic pain and health issues
May is M. E. awareness month which is chronic fatigue syndrome in the US.
Ren is doing this and Lyme disease to raise awareness of the millions of invisible individuals affected by these misunderstood not spoken about diseases.
He lost most of his twenties to being in bed unable to live normally or make music

@@kellyt5341 Yes, I did, and your words were what I was struggling to find. Such raw emotions are rare, and it certainly got me out of my "comfort zone". Good or great performance certainly didn't seem right. A better choice would have been "honest" emotions. And I should not have tied Ren's statements to the reactor's response in the same sentence.
