Speaker boxes shaking with ruff bass from roots reggae dub plates, all races/ nationalities skanking without a care in the world, no tension , great vibes, 1 turntable on a thick piece of sponge, stopping off at the bagel shop before getting home, ears ringing well into the next day.
Yeah I remember. At just after 4 or 5, the uniformed workers finishing their shift work would show up, saw some British rail workers properly letting off. Those times were pure magic ❤️💛💚

I first heard Shaka ( mid 80s) in a small venue in Peckham , even from outside it was almost as if the bass pressure was going to break the windows. Looking back I feel sorry for the neighbors.
Jah Shaka played in Birmingham @ The Irish Centre on 28/12/. It was like nights at the Rocket. Every tune he played that night was better than the last one. The dance was a “classic” Shaka session. ❤️💛💚

I travelled down Highgate Hill and along Holloway Road early to meet my comrade, Pugh Shirkman, at the Rocket. Before leaving home I played Universal Tribulation. I met Pugh in the bar, we drank beer and chatted. Then we went into the hall and Shaka dropped the first tune. Gregory Isaacs, "Universal Tribulation", if my memory serves me well. Sorry I left early, Pugh, without saying goodbye. Each man has to go through his own individual tribulation.

Nobody plays bass like Shaka nice hollow with deep vibration resonance ,I've copied his sound with my small set doesn't blow your brains out but sounds nice and lofi ,seen Shaka countless times back in the day I was probably at this session,This is how to play soundsystem,Shaka the master ❤️💛💚🇯🇲🍀🙏
