Overcame demons that most would never imagine. Finglas , Dublin , Ireland .....the world has lost a lovely genuine soul / legend 🇮🇪
I never met him Christy Dignam from Aslam, I always heard his song Crazy World in radio and it was one of my most favorite songs, otherwise I never seen of him and his band, I was that time not such a big music fan, I came from Germany in 2000 to live in Ireland. I learned to love Ireland and I love to live in Ireland. Only the last 3-5 years I finally found out who Aslan was and I was looking out for Aslan for documents and concerts mostly in TV. I was amazed by the honesty and sense for humor and courage about his bad health the cancer Charity Dignam had, I am not to well either having Rheumatoid Arthritis but I never spoken about it as openly as Christy did about his cancer, now I find nothing bad about to talk about my Rheumatoid Arthritis anymore before I was ashamed of it because usually only the elderly people get it. In a funny way Christy reached me over TV not to be afraid to speak out. When the RTE NEWS came on today 13th June 2023 informing the nation that Christy Dignam has died today I felt devastated because he was an outstanding man who's songs I loved and document shows I loved. Even so I am only a huge fan of Aslans Christy Dignam I hope he can rest in peace now. All I can say now is that so many people Nationwide will be missing him, sad is that no more new songs will be sung by Christy Dignam. But Crazy World was his very best song even so he found the lyrics weird and he didn't like the song, but people liked the song and Crazy World was a huge hit for Aslan and Christy Dignam. RIP Christy Dignam, them in heaven will be well entertained by him his singing and his humor😢😊 we love you and we will miss you !!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Well done Christy.
I moved out to Finglas about 18 months ago and was hoping to bump into Christy one day so i could say hello and tell him how much i admire him. Thats never gonna happen now. Even though i never met him it still feels like i lost a friend. R.I.P🙏☘️
As I watch this I am sad and thrilled to be able to have seen them so many times but remember telling my friends about Christy's gesticulating which I described as URBAN BALLET

Had the pleasure of meeting Christy what a gentleman he was. A very talented musician his gigs were amazing the atmosphere of his performance. I remember seeing Christy playing midnight in omplyic dublin in 1993 at his Goodbye Charlie Moonhead gig and later going to see him perform at Iveagh Gardens. Well Goodbye Charlie Moonhead you will truly missed by Christy 😢😢

Already missing Christy so much and can only imagine what is family are going through, my friend took his life in Mountjoy prison three weeks ago, and This Time by Aslan was sung at his funeral it was terribly sad 😢. RIP Christy 🙏🏼 RIP Mick 🙏🏼
