Yes, the misconception is that introvert = quiet/shy/awkward. Introvert & extrovert are personality traits that describe how someone gain their energy. Introverts tend to feel more energized and relaxed from spending time on their own, while extroverts will feel energized from parties/crowded events. Introverts will feel drained even if they like parties/crowded events. Imagine introverts as a low battery that progressively decreases to 0% during until after interaction, while extroverts as a low battery that progressively increases to 100% during until after interaction.
While shyness stems from fear of other people or social situations. Which can be felt by everyone regardless of being introvert/extrovert.
A good example of introvert is f(x) Amber (ISFJ), she has a large group of friends both celeb and non celeb, knows almost everyone in the industry, attends a lot of gatherings/meet ups, etc.

But what's annoying is that some introverts even think that introverts should be quiet and shy with almost zero friends. Which is why my introvert coworker didn't even believe when I said that I'm 98% introvert (I'm an INFJ). And she really made it like a huge deal because she sees me as a confident, talkative, and easy going with a lot of friends kind a person. And it makes me want to choke her sometimes (in a good way possible, lol). She didn't even listen when I said that I'm the type of person who prefers to stays home. I've told her that if there's a month holiday, I would prefer to stay home 28 days of it and she said that "but you can't be an introvert. you're so confident and talkative. I still can't believe you're an introvert." THANK GOD SHE'S NO LONGER A COWORKER or I'm gonna lose it anytime.

I'm INFP, and I'm crazy when I'm in a group with my close friends and family, even in public. Because I feel a sense of security to act weird when I have them with me, who give me reactions and even join in sometimes. I'm also crazy in private gatherings between us. My introvert shows in how I still need the majority of my time alone before I feel the urge to go hang out with them and how I'm kind of shy in a new environments, I also avoid running into people I know on the streets (I would actually walk slower or hide lmao) to not have to stop and chit chat 😂
I'm ISTP and I also act weird and hype when with my friends and family, but just not in public (even when I'm with them)

Drunk Mark, as a fellow introvert, is such a relatable thing. I'm shy when out and about usually, but a few drinks in it just feels like there's no reason to be afraid of anyone's judgment or something like that, really. Idk, but I relate to being crazy when around family or friends, yet quiet when just out and about on my own, or around strangers, especially in foreign places.
He is so awkward but I love him so much .

I agree so much when you said introverts are just weird.
I am introverted, a little shy when I don't know other people but once I know them I am so weird with them! I also keep singing randomly while working and thankfully I work with some fellow introverts as weird as me so they just start to sing along!
Some of the weirdest members in NCT are introverts too!
But yeah people have a real misconception of what is an introvert. I like people but there is time when I just want to have my alone time!
