Just add good amount of dish washing liquid/powder in a pot full of water and keep it to boil . The water level should be to the top that the blackish part is fully covered and boil it fully for 5-7 mins and then let that water cool to luke warm or as hot as your hands can handle . Then take a wire scrubber or scotch brite and gently go over the area it is so easy to clean once you have boiled it nicely . You will save a lot of hard scrubbing . Try it, I always do it that way as my kadai is quite thin and it gets brown very fast . Try it out and see . 🙏🏻
