I remember watching this when I was 14.This movie brings back a lot of memories of my siblings and I sitting in my parents' bedroom watching this movie. Thanks for the movie and the memory.
My mom had boyfriends but as a kid watching men like Bernie Casey and the rest of the real cats kind of made me want to be a intelligent street minded educated man as they were!But i came into my own & my mother reminds me she's proud of the man i am.All i ever wanted!
This line cracked me up: "It's 1947 the day for fools is over'. What an amazing cast! Thanks for giving us the chance to see this movie. The voice of Paul Winfield. Such a fan of Ja'net Dubois from "Good Times". Oh my gosh... young Mario Van Peebles. I recognize "Perkins" Davis Roberts, he worked a lot in tv. Rosey Grier always seemed like a such a nice guy.

I didn't see this movie till I seen it on BET starz...it came out when I was I kid but didn't know about it. Back in those days you had to catch it when it came out because most of us didn't have VCR's and it was hard to get a movie with a majority black cast to get an encore run on the big 3 networks
“Get dressed.. it’s party time..” yikes! This was one of my dad’s favorite movies🤣 I miss my old man. This brings back so many memories. & I was literally born the year this thing came out..

I watched this movie when I was a teen and I'm amazed how much it was "before it's time." Interatial marriage, homosexuality, abortion, etc. This is a classic!
The day when we leave " man you too" in the garbage, in all areas of life when we say stuff like that. I wanna see my folks but our entertainment aint got no better. Then I realize what time and place I'm living in . We are beautiful.
I cannot stop watching this movie. It is in my playlist at work.... as you can see here and my personal youtube playlist. All those fine actors and actresses. It brings a tear to my eye.... most are ancestors now. But whenever I can... I watch this over and over. And was glad for Moon, Swoop was a sour grape. And I wished I was Shirley's wife.... I coulda did it better.. fr fr cause I love me some BERNIE!!!!!
