play mahoyaku its good. third anniversary is coming up in a few months too so more stories to read and maybe some suffering but we all love it here.
It’s kinda funny how Nero’s backstory would be too spoilery but saying Figaro is 2000 years old is one of the biggest main story spoilers 😭
Loved the video!! But I also want to add a few fun facts since I really love mahoyaku as well
- Shylock is so obsessed with Murr that npcs have called him out for it and there are canon rumors that he’s in love with him
- Chloe was actually kidnapped by Rustica, he just asked him to not take him back home because his family was abusive
- Cain is scared of snakes because it’s a biblical reference. His eye being stolen is another reference, check out the mark of Cain. Basically since he has Owens eye it works like some sort of protection so other wizards can see he is somewhat liked by Owen
- Owen has a bit of a fascination for knights. I wouldn’t call it an obsession, but when he was young he was trapped for years in a cell and kept dreaming as wishing for a knight to save him
- All of the wizards are inspired by literature characters. Most are from very famous books and others are still a bit unsure. Some are hard to connect too like Heathcliff and Wuthering Heights but it’s there
- Riquet is unironically the funniest character in this game
- Mithra isn’t exactly canonly attractive, Akira is just filled with lust whenever he enters the room
- Bradley is in jail because Snow and White wanted to make wizards seem better to the humans so he was kind of set up
- Rutile isn’t a bad artist. He can draw realistically very well and instead chooses to have “bad” drawings because he enjoys them more
Mahoyaku has such a involving story, I’m sure anyone could get deep into it!!! There’s an unofficial website with the full main story and you can easily find event translations on Twitter. Also, mili makes the music and the entire ost is on Spotify as well. The game is really well done aside from content not getting released consistently. I got into MahoYaku before translations (I coulda just been blind tho) so I just stuck around for the cute chibi, card art, voice acting, and live2D.... so based around that, guess who my fav character is? Figaro.
I just thought he was a wholesome doctor who was kinda old and took care of everyone (his fluffy hair and voice also won me over). I swear, the day I opened up a translation of his character story was the day I felt absolute betrayal lol
Man's sketchy af, but I'm far too deep to take him away from my #1 spot in my heart after all these years haha... just shows my luck with these kind of games without translations.
Exhibit A) My fav character in AkaSeka is Yatagarasu (if I spelt that right), the yandere character. Blinded yet again by fluffy hair and good voice. Anyways, moral of the story: don't be deceived by fluffy hair and a good voice. (Hopefully Keith from Helios isn't secretly insane *crosses fingers*)

I might consider getting into this. So far, I'm taking a liking to Shylock, Rustica, Chloe, Faust, Nero, Rustile and Owen. I came here because of Faust but I guess this is a sign for me to get into it. It reminds me of Ransute (a game similar to this) except we use alchemy to make stuff and go on surveys XD
My toxic trait is finding enjoyment in pretty boys murder each other and their surroundings. 10/10 would play if I knew a lick of JP or had more free time to get into another gacha.

- the main aspects are the cards and the story
- gameplay: train card stats (choose which stats to raise), has mini stories and such every so while
- gameplay mainly for people who enjoy minimal effort games, since I think it's targeted to women and older teens (busy people)
