Got goosebumps watching how philippines colonized by many countries feeling proud at the same time because we managed to get freedom after so many years

I fully agree. It is sad to see how many countries got involved in colonizing the PH and using it as a war ground, while we held our own and managed to overcome everything in the end. Definitely something to be proud of.

Stefan should know that Bali is a remnant of Hindu empire in Indonesia where Hindu culture and architecture are preserved . One thing missing in that history is that Manila was a British city for two years and was handed back to Spain by a treaty .

The Hindu influence can now only be seen in several Philippine Mythology. All gods and goddesses of pre-colonial Philippines are kinda similar with that of Hinduism and Buddhism. Unfortunately, the Spaniards eradicated all manuscripts and sculptures related to what they call "pagan religions".
The only remaining Hindu and Bhuddist people in the Philippines are the migrants from China and India. Chinese migration to the Philippines started during the Spanish era, establishing the oldest Chinatown in the world. Followed by Indian migration during the American period until today, although most of them are Sikh (Sikhism) and few other Hindu.

Actually there are new Theories/studies that the Philippines history starts from the Tower of Babel , where the first inhabitants of the Islands come from , It’s Ophir son of Joktan and the navy of King Solomon a thousand year later then followed by the navigateurs from Greece , Tarshish son of Javan.

Research bornean people have same tattoo and clothing of rajahs and datus of precolonial Philippines. Lapu lapu is a pintados chief of mactan. We came from bornean, and Malay.

Nope, not everyone in the islands we now call The Philippines were Muslim when the Spaniards came.... There were indigenous groups even in Mindanao who were NOT MUSLIM...They were and some are still Animists...or are practising a mixture of Animism and Hinduism.... At the time Magellan arrival, The Rajah of Cebu was Rajah Humabon, a Minor Prince of the Chola Empire.... He was Half Tamil - Half Austronesian/Malay and he and his people were NOT Muslim. BATHALA was their God NOT Allah.... and guess what those Early Cebuanos ate: they ate LECHON 😂😂😂PORK WAS and STILL IS LIFE in CEBU Bros.! When the Spaniards were roaming around what we now know as the Philippines and the rest of Southeast Asia, they at first send scouts to see if the inhabitants would be hostile or friendly to them.... THE BEST INDICATOR THAT THE NATIVES WERE FRIENDLY WERE GUESS WHAT??? ....it was the prescence of both wild and domesticated PIGS in the islands 😁😁😁

Ya... This "history" reflects the idea that government or leader is as efficient at they are today. There are over 150 languages because there were essentially 150+ tribes who mostly felt that they were independent. The idea that the Spanish "ruled" all of the today's Philippines is just false, sure most of Luzon was, but a Spaniard going to central Mindanao and expecting to "rule" would have ended badly for him. The Americans defeated the sultanates, but, they ignored Luzon for decades to one degree or another. That battle is still being fought today.

From what i know, the time of my grandfather and father here in mindanao was just instability. The place had a lot of killings and the police back then where kina useless. Nag tigbasanay ang mga tao daria. My uncle and many others i know at the time had a lot of gang wars. Many of my distant uncles have no arms possibly because of the fighting here. I am not sure of this things this was but hearsay after all but interesting nonetheless i think...

Correction please: The Philippines was named after the then king of Spain Philip II, not king of Austria. How much more errors are there? Hmmmn... be careful, not everything we hear or see is true. Philippine historians should able to pick out the mistakes. I am a Filipino so I have a say to this. Not bashing, just correcting. Peace ✌️ to all.
