- When Andrew Scott and Jessica Gunning met on the set of British comedy drama Pride in 2014, little did they know that a decade later they would both be celebrating Emmy nominations - Andrew for Ripley and Jessica for Baby Reindeer. Nor did they anticipate that they would remain such great friends.
“The film really bonded us together,” grins Andrew, as he joins his former Pride co-star to discuss the film’s 10 year anniversary for the latest episode of Esquire Talks. Writer-director Matthew Warchus's landmark movie told the uplifting and boisterous true story of Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM), an activist group founded in 1984 in London to raise money for the Welsh miners.

Oooh!!! Love this, cant even think about Pride's end without crying
There are few films that make me as happy as this one. It's just fantastic ❤️
Love, love , love this film. Brilliant ensemble cast. Awesome soundtrack. Top 3 all time favourite movie.
Lovely movie - the bread and roses scene always gives me goosebumps. Thanks for sharing your memories and behind-the-scenes stories.
I finally watched Pride (twice) this weekend. Love. Love Andrew. Love Jessica. So lovely to see them together chatting about Pride (and more) 10 years later. 💖
Jessica Gunning is SO good (and scary as hell) as Martha in Baby Reindeer. I'm so happy that she was nominated for an Emmy. SO well deserved.
Ah! What a lovely surprise!
“hello mum” is the most heartbreakingly delivered line! such a gorgeous film
I loved Pride, it was so true to my memories growing up in Wales, during the miners strike and being gay, I remember my first pride and it was great to see a realistic representation, just a well done all around
I love the both!! Great talk
Pride is one of my favourite films! I saw it with my dad because he’s very politically active and did a lot of supporting the miners in the 80s so he wanted to see it and I think we’ve shown it to everyone we know since! What a beautiful story. Incredible cast.
Two absolute gems! I hope Jessica starts to get some of the same level of opportunities that Andrew has because she's quietly been a powerhouse of an actor in the UK and I need her to level up
Pride is still my favorite of Andrew's movies
Absolutely love this film and these two actors were wonderful and their performances were out of this world ❤❤
Goodbye, Esquire!!
Ta rah!
