  • Another DD15 with multiple faults that are related to regen problems.
    SPN 3480 FMI 2 Doser Fuel Line Pressure Low (Possible Doser valve or Doser block issue)
    SPN 3719 FMI 0 Soot Level Very High (successful parked regen will clear)
    SPN 5443 FMI 16 DPF HC Absorption High (successful regen will make this code go inactive)
    DPF Zone 5 (successful regen using the DDDL software will clear this fault code)
    In this video, the Doser valve was first cleared of soot blockage. That didn’t work, so the Doser valve was replaced the. Ultimately the Doser block was replaced.
    A successful parked regen using the DDDL software did clear the fault codes except for the NOx sensor. That will most likely need to be replaced in order to clear and verify the repairs.

    Is there a way to disable the Detroit assurance on a 21 freightliner. I want the following distance radar disable but with no dash lights. Thanks

    I’m having a problem with the ash content showing zero on the readout, but the truck still wants a regen. Any idea what the problem could be? I’m getting that hydrocarbon absorption warning fault code and nothing else and have already tried running a regen which seemed to have failed.

    Did you replace the doser block with a new one before the regen? Or did you just remove it and did the regen with it off? I’m confused.

      Good question.
      First:
      I cleaned the doser valve, the one located after the turbo. I tried to do another regen but was unsuccessful.
      Second:
      Then removed the doser block and replaced it with a new doser block as well as the doser valve. This is per the troubleshooting steps from Detroit Diesel. Then did a parked regen using the software. That regen was successful and brought the DPF zone back to 0.
      You can’t do a regen without the doser block being connected, it will trigger active fault codes and not let you perform a parked regen.

      It is definitely not my favorite thing to do, especially when they fall out so easily. A different design would have been better.

    Hi I have a 2019 frightliner cascadia with dd 15 with 549.000 miles on it . Problem started today when I engage or disengage the Jake break. It makes a noise like errrrrrr just had the quality control valve changed on it and the connector on the sensor and on the fuel temperature sensor is missing the gray tab that holds the connector in place could that be the reason otherwise without the Jake break the truck is running fine. I have the otr scan Tool no codes Thank you

    so once you get the code for high soot level and you do a successful regen are the filters fully clean or should I look into buying new filters?

    • @Galarid87
      @Galarid87 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From what I understand, you can get them Cleaned via baking or ultrasonic tank if the filter is still good and not cracked.

      @jorgefacio690 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Galarid87 I've been told by many mechanics that baking them can actually ruin them. they've told me to just replace them at around 250k to 300k miles

    • @Galarid87
      @Galarid87 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jorgefacio690 I've seen them baked or cleaned ultrasonic hot tank with success. They test them after the cleaning to see if they flow to spec. If they pass the test and there's no damage to the filters then you can reuse them. About 500 to clean or 1500 to 2000 to buy new and that's not including labor if you don't do it yourself. But to answer your original question what the regen is designed to do is burn all that soot that accumulates on the face of the DOC and DPF. All that soot turns into ash during the regen process and that ash is stores inside the DPF. The DPF can only store so much ash % once it reaches its limit then you pull the filters to clean or replace them which ever you want. I've heard and read from cummins manuals that they recommend after treatment services at 200k. If you low idle for hours then possibly sooner.

    • @hddm3
      @hddm3 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they are clean of soot. When you need to change them you have to know how much ash it has in it. We change ours around 75 to 85 percent ash content

      The software for Detroit Diesel can be purchased through Nexiq. They offer two subscriptions, the standard and the professional version.
      I use the standard version and it does everything I need.

      For Detroit engines like the Series 60, MBE and DD engines (DD13, DD15 and DD16) I use the Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link which can be purchased from Nexiq.

    Question for you buddy, I have a dd15 that will no complete a successful regen. Getting a 3719-0 pulled filter and had baked, but while I perform a park regen I’ll get to around 600 degrees and won’t go over that. Dosing injector is clean, when I start the regen I see that the injector gets to 17% and then goes back to 0% and doesn’t move again. The other guy prior to me installed a new dosing block and egr valve. Any idea what it could be? Something’s causing the injector not to activate witch is causing my temperature issue

    • @CarlosDieselElectric
      @CarlosDieselElectric  ปีที่แล้ว
