WOW JOE.you are living the dream for sure with all that snow and the machine!! lucky you buddy.enjoying yourself is an understatement sir!!!!!! AWESOME
Good for you for hanging in there. Bucket list Check, checking your line on a snowmobile and a fisher. Down south In Auburn (Maine) i have to catch the fisher in a foot hold. (Sets for coyotes) I think Waylon would love a day on the line on sled. You should reach out to his father i know he just bought the same sled as you. Or maybe I'll put that bug in Kenny's ear! Keep up the great work. And 11 short more days of amazing trapping left!!
In the long run I believe logging is a good thing. It creates food and cover for many animals in the woods. Huge benefit for moose.deer.grouse ect. Without Forst fires logging is a great option. The forest canopy needs to be opened from time to time. But I do love my cedars, I wish that they would leave those the hell alone. They provide much needed food and cover. Not to mention they are just way cool to walk among, that is my best place to hunt and trap. Love your channel. From northern Minnesota your woods look just like mine.
Logging is a great thing for the woods, animals, and people But the way it is logged and left is important. I think if people saw the current management and could imagine the future afterwards they would be shocked with how current practices are in certain areas.
A old timer who trapped heavily here in Canada, told me that Fisher don't like to get wet. They will do anything to cross a creek with out getting wet or just wont cross it if they cant jump it.
Thanks for the video Joe that’s some beautiful country there. Boy I don’t know if I would of passed on that buck track but I know your working the trap line
For sure, Super focused and driven on the line . I had a day I drove by two 200 pounders tracks, kinda kicked myself but was happy all the same. Lucky enough to have done that and shot some good deer and I know I will again someday but wasn't that day.
Congratulations on your catch Joe ,,CVA makes a take down single shot scout rifle that can be disassembled with zero tools in stainless steel ,,that is the rifle you need for that short box on the snow mobile ,,joe I have one in 450 bushmaster and it shoots in one hole at 100 yards ,,23 inch barrel so high velocity for the round ,,,the 260 grain fusion would be the load for your thick woods
It's been a great season. I don't like to post any numbers as to stay humble and not be compared to other trappers. I will most likely give a season recap and totals and P/L report at the end of the year.
Joe, I welded up a bracket for my expedition that goes where the passenger seat goes and I put a box on it for my bait bucket, gas cans ext.. it’s an awesome upgrade that allows you to haul more gear that’s easy to do. I’m sure Ol Ken could hook you up with a bracket. Sorry Ken 😂
Being somewhat new to your channel I have a few questions do you do any trapping using leghold traps and do you trap for anything other then Martin fisher or weasel
Oh not a bit, Sometimes arms can get a little tired from long hard days on the snowmobile from hard steering and legs after a bunch of miles but neck has been good.

Living the dream is right!
You have the warmest hands to go like you do with no gloves.
I have to wear gloves while on the snowmobile, its the only time they seem to get cold is when not moving just on the handles.

Is there any chance we could get a season total so far? Keep pumping out the great content!

I posted some coyote and fox foothold trapping a little over a month ago I guess. Thats about it for now. Maybe do some beaver this winter under ice.
Joe what lake are they cutting by, I thought they had a large buffer around them
More than likely a small buffer down by the water. The buffers have shrunk over the years.
Hello Joe
Welcome!
Gotta get David Dudley up to camp for a week.
stay tuned!
Yup 50 million
Truth
How long does your trapping season run?
Regular season runs till Jan, beaver is extended.
How tired was your neck at the end of the day?
Oh not a bit, Sometimes arms can get a little tired from long hard days on the snowmobile from hard steering and legs after a bunch of miles but neck has been good.
Do you worry about people following your tracks to the traps?
Not really, most trappers have pulled out it’s tough now , if something happens I will take precautions
@joehollandfishing people are shady. my cousin had a beaver set stolen recently.
Can’t do much about that.
Should I take my sled and do what I love or should I take the truck and do what I love.........yep......tough decision. LOL.
haha, WIN
Anyone ever tried rinsing their hands with blood instead of leaving the human sent on the traps?
It's an absolute travesty what they are doing to the land!
I am willing to learn and am open minded
