I was the last customer at The Bill Resort. I was the only person staying there and I think it was April 2020. I remember when I was leaving the Restaurant Manager told me they would be shutting the doors at the end of the week. Loved just walking down to the Beach every morning and jumping in the water.It’s a very sad to see it in the shape it is in now.
Yes, Lamai is a good swimming beach, definitely! But like everywhere, beaches in Samui also depend of the weather but Lamai is for sure a great spot for swimming!
Hello there, I am in UK & have an eye on things, (in kho samui) I want to come with wifey for a few months, do you think things will start to open up, after Christmas, when rainy season is over, best wishes!
Stayed at Jasmine for a month back in August - we were the only ones there. So many of those crappy badly built run-down bars that existed pre-Covid are just a giant eyesore. They need to be bulldozed down. Lamai is a nice beach that is ruined by bad development (like so many other Thailand beaches).
Yes, I agree, Lamai needs to improve as the Fishermen's Village in Bophut. Indeed bad development had not to help... Let's see what the future is going to bring...
