Thank goodness it's not in the Spitfire player- I definitely prefer their libraries when they're in Kontakt. It just runs better.
Yeah, but it's been cracked. Can't convince the 99% to buy something that will never be of value to them, when they can get it for free.
@@HrhrbJrifrjt It depends. If you use a product 99% you're better off buying it. Trust me, it will prevent you from losing a production futuristically speaking.
@@Metalpazallteway For a hobbyist it makes no difference. That was the point I was trying to make. Unfortunately 99% of people will never achieve a level of success in this industry that will allow them to recoup the cost. It's in their best interest to price premium libraries at ridiculous prices. It creates an air of exclusivity for the small number of people actually willing to buy it.
@@HrhrbJrifrjt To some extent you're correct. But also it helps the musician who has created the tool so you're forming a cohesive business you and amongst your peers. The issue with the music industry is that there's no solid form of income stream. Big problem. But there are many outlets
@@Metalpazallteway I'm not helping anyone do anything, because I'm not a professional composer and probably never will be. They have chosen to price their premium libraries at a price most people would never pay, so it really makes no difference whether I obtain via some other means, or never obtain it, because I would never pay that much money for personal entertainment. Professional composers absolutely will pay that much money, and they are keeping the industry afloat. Think of it like business class vs economy, 90% of the money is made by the big spenders in business class, even though they only make up a small percentage of the passengers. They could probably offer econo class seats for free and still turn a profit.

Love this! Amazing job to all of you. Question, if one was to purchase these libraries, what percussion library would go well with them? The symphonic percussion library isn't NKS compatible according to the compatibility chart.
Yes, it would be Symphonic Percussion because it was recorded in the same place, so it blends well with these libraries.

I have a question. When a full orchestra is playing together, the instruments bounce off each other. I would think there may be minimal perception to distinguish how it plays a role in the overall shape of the sound, but is it the mix that will allow us to be able to dial in at that level? If that makes sense.
Yes a combination mixing and mastering - but also with the use additional “Effects” such as Multiple Impulse Response Reverb (MIR) - Basically even though each Audio Track is an isolated element MIR allows, if you like, a final recording of the whole orchestra.

Just got pushed this video in my feed this morning. Glory days of Spitfire, releasing content from AIR on the regular. Not so into the AR1 sound except for percussion.
At around 29 and change you're discussing when to use ensembles and when to use lines. I personally think the way to go is to sketch in ensemble and print to tape in lines once you've finished composing and simply have to lay in parts on which you've completely agreed. But again, how do you handle divisi in a case where they are needed because you need more than five pitches at any one time?

kI notice that neither Symphonic Brass nor BBCSO Pro have individual stopped French Horns. what happens when you need a four note chord of stopped horns? You can do it in Studio Brass Pro. But what happens if you've been working with the more expansive libraries and you need four pitches of stopped horn?

I love Spitfire products. But as a Spitfire shopper I would highly appreciate it if you folks at Spitfire would, being the libraries are quite valuable and pricey as they're, please re work the libraries so they can be a tiny bit more deep sampled, and easily useable or slightly less key switchable. Just like Spitfire Solo Strings, it would be nice to see a performance leg patch for some of the other libraries such as Studio Orchestra Pro, and Chamber Strings Pro.
At about 8:14 in, you start discussing "sample buildup." There appears to be no provision for making realistic divisi string parts in Symphonic Strings. In fact, with the exception of Studio Strings Pro, which breaks up its string sections into relatively individual desks, there is no way to create a true divisi sound without sample buildup. What does one do when one needs a true divisi in this library?

They've been updated to Professional editions with additional mic positions, etc.
@@ScottGarrigus Well, if you have the Studio line and any number of other lines, like HZ, BBCSO, or ARO, you have some extra ambient/spot mics as well. I'm a Spitfire nut, but I'd rather wait for any newer ARO additions.
The mixes might be good if you want to save on RAM, but it will be possible $450+ to do so.... could get a new laptop instead.

Originals Epic Strings, Woods, Brass and Intimate strings are surely a good condensed selection?
@@pianobook Aaah, I wasn't thinking quite that condensed. I already have those three. Is intimate a direct selection from symphony? I tried to emulate Christians benchmark demo in this vid, but I couldn't achieve the same texture/feeling.

I would love to be able to hear my notation played back through Spitfire stuff. VSL used to make Soundsets for Sibelius 6 but I don't think they do it anymore. A friend worked up Albion ONE through the current Sibelius but it was a hit and miss thing.

You could get the "base" SSO which is £899.00, then upgrade to SSO Pro sometime down the line for the difference in cost.
