    how you know that what is the relation between rainfall and its predictors??? if you know already then it is a matter of only mapping.....but ML should be done to identify how much temprature affects the rain etc... etc...

    Sir,how to design a fuzzy system for a given truth table...in which there is 3 input variable (a,b,c) , having value 0 or 1 and 1 output variable 'y'.y will have value 1 in case of 3,5,6,7( after converting a,b,c combination value into decimal) otherwise the value of'y' will be 0.The system should be designed using fuzzy logic toolbox.

    Thanks for this wonderful. It helped me to understand fuzzy logic using fuzzy toolbox. I have a query that how can I get membership value of input parameters (like u have given 5 parameters i.e.relative humidity, total cloud cover, wind direction, temperature and pressure) which is defined in the range of 0 to 1? Or is there any other method to get the value in between the range of 0 to 1? I'll appreciate your quick reply.

      You can add the membership functions same as I have done.I dint used anyother method, so not sure if it works in any other way or not

    Good day sir, i find this tutorial very useful. i am trying to assess water quality using fuzyy WQI. i have all my layers in GIS format (.Shp, .rst, .tiff). i want to prepare this layers and import to matlab and use as my inputs in fuzzy logic toolbox. the challenge i am having now is that fuzzy logic toolbox recognise files in .fis format. Sir, please help me with link, tutorials and other helpful materials that will help me understand how to convert my GIS layers to .fis format and how to prepare my inputs for use in fuzzy logic toolbox

    It is necessary for the ranges of the MFs to overlap?

      Yes, bcause there is a gradual increase in the range of MFs. for example take the case of age of young (0-20), middle aged (20-40) and old age person(40-60). So here we can't say that aperson with age 20years 1 second or 21 years, or 20 years 6 months 3 days 24 hours and 35 second as middle aged. So there is never an instant increase. It is always a gradual rise.

    how did you choose the mf's for the input variables ?

      You have to select the mf's at your own or according to the conditions required for solving a particular problem. Example, if you want to travel to a new place, what are the constraints required. Mainly you require a good budget and a travel destination and these two become your input mf's. I hope you got what I want to say. You can even reduce or increase the number of mf's depending upon your requirements

      it is not possible to do so, you have to write the rules by yourself. And if you want to know how much rules you want draw a binary table for each and make the results as per the number of inputs required.

      Sorry, Selvaraj I was wrong at my part, the total number of rules depend on the total number of membership functions each input has. since there are 3 membership functions for each input so the total number of rules will be : 3*3*3*3*3=243 rules.

      In this problem the total number of rules are 243. I have taken only 50 in this example. You can take as many rules as per your convenience but the results will purely depend on the number of rules you have. So using less rules will make the results vauge. You can use less only for demonstration purposes as I have done.

    Can you please explain how to build ANFIS that includes many ANFIS's when the number of input parameters exceeds five. I found an article dealing with such a situation (Development of an intelligent system based on ANFIS for predicting wheat grain yield on the basis of energy inputs: www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2214317314000031) and I'm very interested to build my own model inspired by this article since I ave 10 input variables based on time series.
