Hello Steve, I have a PVM 5041Q works perfectly at RGB but the composite entry is only seen the black and white image, you have an idea that it could be?, thank you !!!
very admirable skills ! the PiP at 4:16 is a great idea but very small to see :) and did you consider to 3D print missing parts as the Yoke joint you replaced with the black epoxy for e.g. like a Ring slpit in half? besides that again very admirable skills and very nice and informative video thanks
I've got a 6041QM looks very similar to the 5041Q. For some reason I' cant find the H.STAT VR on my set. Manual points to the neckboard but there is nothing to be found. Any ideas?
I have this PVM and for some reason, The composite shows the picture in black and white, while the RGB/Component shows in color. I think mine has a connection issue as sometimes I could see the composite give out color when played with. Not sure what I gotta do? re-solder the connection or something?
It’s a cold solder joint. Steve might know the exact area but it’s somewhere on the color board. Nobody seems to ever have a set place that needs to be reflowed but I’d check to see if anything stands out.
I just recently added a 5041q to my collection and it’s a beautiful little monitor. Unfortunately I notice a little graphic shimmer when scrolling left and right playing some SNES games like Mario World and Link to the Past. Is this normal for this model PVM? I don’t seem to see this on my 20M2U using the same RGB modded SNES. It’s not a big issue but I’d like to know if it’s a possible defect with my monitor.
hey men, i have a problem with my panasonic ct20r15w from 1998, the problem is that in black areas looks green, someone told me that i need to do degaussing. Is a geenish tint in black screens, when i connect the ps1 and when it shows the playstation logo with the black screen the black area looks green but a dark green. Also gray areas looks a little green almost yellow, metroid from super nintendo gray colors looks green almost yellow. Someone else told me to adjust some variable resistors or in the service menu low the green color or up blue and red. What do u think about it. I don't have the remote but i bought it on ebay and arrive in some days. I can't find the service manual, so i don't know how to customize the colors in the service menu i only know how to enter because i found it on google, so do u think that this is the problem or is the tube? Do u have fixed this model before? Sorry for my english, is not my native language!
Probably should check the Screen Potentiometer/G2 to see if it's turned up too high. Otherwise rebuild the neck board and see if you can adjust the colors to a suitable look. Good luck
not the smallest by far. JVC made the JVC TM-P3 which is 3 inch. Leader also rebranded this monitor and paired it with a waveform monitor to make the lvm-5863a. I have one and it has a battery pack and shoulder strap so people could use it in the field back in the day
I used to do this kind of work with CRT arcade monitors. I enjoyed the work a lot.
so adorable lol, I'd love to own one of those someday!
A trick: you can watch series at Flixzone. Been using it for watching a lot of movies recently.
@Ronan Joziah yea, I've been watching on Flixzone} for since november myself :)
Incredible work man
Thanks my friend
I just bought one of these for dirt cheap from a videographer, I hope it works!

I think you are giving it a singna that corresponds to the region of the monitor, if its pal and you put ntsc it will look black and white
very admirable skills !

Good idea. I don't have a 3d printer or really any experience with it, but that probably would have worked

Can it do Goldeneye 4 player split screen?

Love it! And with RGB 😍

So why not use convergence strips for the corners?
Whoa! I never seen this unit before Steve. I have to say, I like it. Now you've gotten me curious with this model bro. 8^)
Anthony..
Yeah, it's a cool little unit.

of course nice video!

Do you use an isolation transformer when doing these types of repairs/adjustments? Thanks for the awesome video!
Not generally. Most of these high end CRTs have built-in iso transformers. It's a good idea to use one though
Nice video
U ship international?
Not currently
Props

Sent an email. Looking for a couple small parts. Thanks!
im not sure if its just the video but the black levels looks extremely poor.
JVC TM-L450TU was smaller
Ha ha those are nice but how really wants to play games on a monitor that small
