    Good content! These Vittorazi Moster 185 recoil starters are certainly a weak link, if not a complete nightmare! I've found that they need constant maintenance. Another issue is that the recoil spring will sometimes break, or become disengaged from the retainer, allowing it to just spin in place, and not create any tension. Uuuggghhh!!!

      Thank you for watching! I was just rebuilding a starter and the MP051 spring failed. Our goal is to save people money by showing how to rebuild them. I hope all is well! Thank you for taking the time to comment! Please reach out if you need anything! -Kyle

      @@skysportsusa5010 Sorry for the late reply brother. It's a rinse and repeat operation. I believe that the Easy Start spring is creeping out. Tired of fooling with it and going to try my luck with a new starter. 🤞

    Thanks for posting! I spent many hours trying to figure out this problem. I did not realize the spring under the Paws Was is the problem. I kept looking at the recoil spring. Should be an easy fix in the future!

    Great video Kyle. I don’t even own a Moster (yet 😉) but I love tearing things apart to see what makes them work. So thanks for making the video.

    Great video Kyle! Unfortunately that issue got widespread recently and many people lost flying time until they got the warranty part. We will be sending some of the faulty starters to Vittorazi to examine and hopefully fix it up asap. We will also be happy to show that to some customers experiencing the same issue and want to get back in the air. Cheers!

    Thanks for video, Kyle. My starter has broken in flight. Loose center bolt and backlash appeared and almost complete internal destruction occurred. You need to twist it tightly and keep an eye on it. Engine running 47FH.

      @@skysportsusa5010 thanks Kyle! So the other day when I was on the beach, I want to go start it, and I heard the clip come off and rubbing against the plastic and it was making a real loud noise and I only knew that was happening because it happened once before I took it apart and saw the clip off But when I want to go full throttle it on the beach, the clip must’ve fell back into place because that noise went away but I think something else is going on with the set up itself. I’m hoping to have the time today or tomorrow to take it all apart. Thank you for getting back to me. I will for sure be emailing you pictures and sending videos.

    I found out it is possible to put the spring clip on backwards/upside down. If your pawls aren’t engaging as expected, flip the clip.

    I had this exact issue. The pull cord was not retracting. The fix you show in this video did not help me totally. What I did was add a couple of the metal shim rings on the bottom of the X cross base piece to give a little space between the (MP041) assembly and the base. I did this at 3:54 according to your instructions. That's the point where it was getting caught up. After that it worked fine.

      Hey! Thank you for sharing and for watching! Did you take any photos of what your MP042 starter structure and MP052 plastic pulley looked like? Shoot us an email to Info@SkySportsUSA.net with any photos. We would like to see if we can identify why you had to add shims there. Thanks, Kyle!

    Hello.
    The MP053 spring of my pull starter has broken and I just ordered a new one. Can you please explain what is the procedure to replace it?
    Thanks ;)

    • @skysportsusa5010
      @skysportsusa5010  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the question. Sorry you found a broken spring. The replacement you will receive is pre wound and tied in place with a wire. So... remove the old one and slide the new one in, making sure to locate the keeper tang in its slot. Then just evenly tap it down and into place. Please reach out if you have any other questions. Happy to help wherever we can! Thank you for your business!!! - Kris
