Thomas Aten .... Oh the memories. I grew up in Monroe (1964 - 1998) and spent so much time at the speedway. Remember seeing Joey Chitwoods Auto Thrill Show every year during the County Fair. It was a great place to grow up...even if I didn't realize it at the time.
Does anyone out there remember the Indian in full head dress that started the feature.... While the cars went past him? ... Also the battle between willie kagel and buddie rudimen... I was 17 teen in 1970. And those sausage and pepper sandwiches...

That Indian would most likely be the famous wild & crazy Tex Enright! Tex flagged for many tracks way back even before 1970.
